π Bukidnon
One of the most striking features of Bukidnon that frequently impresses its visitors is its breathtaking mountain landscape. The gently rolling grassland plateau with deep and wide canyons of Tagoloan River is a sense of wonder and awe among visitors. Despite the natural beauty to impress, the landscape deceptively conceals a tragic history. This rolling hills was once a paradise of rich forest-covered landscape. The peak of environmental degradation due to wanton logging in the 1960s to 1980s leave in its wake a trail of destruction. Massive years of deforestation left a larger part of the landscape denuded. However, after the long years of ecologically tragic event, Mother Nature gives grass the chance to grow and dominate this vast land, painted the landscape in a full blanket of green foliages forming the grassland, somehow teeming with wildlife again where birds and insects of different species are free to live. Giving it a second look, still happy to see the grasses blowing in the breeze but covering it with trees is still a beauty to look forward to, transforming it back to its original state.
Nature's masterpiece is truly a grandeur. No matter how many times we failed to take our part in protecting our ecosystem, nature will always find its way to regenerate. One thing is for sure: if nature is given the chance, it will bounce back.
