SAFARI EXPERIENCE

Aside from islands, beaches, lagoons, lakes and shipwrecks, Coron also offers a different experience that you probably should not miss when you visit the town – the Calauit Safari experience. The park is located at Calauit Island in Busuanga. This eco-park offers something closer to an African safari experience. These animals were said to be brought to the island from the savannahs of Kenya. Among the ones that you can still see today in the park are giraffes, zebra, pythons, Calamian deers, freshwater crocodiles amd a civet cat. While some of these animals are roaming around freely, the others are held in captive especially the pythons and crocodiles.

THE WORLD WAR II SHIPWRECKS

Coron is among the divers’ most favorite places and must visit because of the historical shipwrecks it has. It is actually considered as the best wreck diving site in Southeast Asia. In total, there are 11 to 12 intact World War II Japanese shipwrecks located mostly at 10 to 30 meters. Some of which are just shallow, at about 3 to 5 meters which can be explored through snorkeling (i.e. Lusong Gunboat and East Tangat). While most are located at Coron Bay, some of which can also be found at Busuanga.

The ones that you shouldn’t miss are the beaches of Malcapuya Island, Banana Island, Bulog Dos, Pass Island, Black Island and more!
