In 1981, a team of entrepreneurs in the Philippines decided to back the creation
of a Private Security Agency (PSA). They were to focus on responding to the needs of an emerging technologydriven, export riented manufacturing sector. This group was led by Alberto Q. Castaneda a Social Enterprise Consultant & Human Resource Development
practitioner; a distinguised leader of the private security
industry in the country. He
mandated Brigadier General Aristeo T. to organize such a company. Assisting him was Major Juan D. Tiangha (Ret.) as its General Manager. From a humble start-up, the team quickly began to generate greater respect from its industry peers and
clients for its high levels of professionalism and disciplined approach to Guard Force
management. After more than a year of operations, in September 1982, the enterprise was
reorganized into a corporation, duly registered with the Securities and Exchange
Commission with EPIC SECURITY AGENCY INC. as its business name. In September 2009, the controlling shares of EPIC SECURITY AGENCY INC.were acquired by David Francis O. Castaneda. He is a veteran sales & marketing
professional with a long history in the private security industry. He has led the company
as its Chairman & President. Today, EPIC SECURITY AGENCY INC. is a preferred guarding service provider
of global semiconductor companies and other highvalueadded manufacturing clients. The company is ISO 9001:2008 certified for its Quality Management System (QMS). The
management team is composed of highly trained and seasoned Certified Security
Professionals (CSP). In January 2014, EPIC SECURITY AGENCY INC. was fully aware of the
challenges it faced as an independent company in an industry tarnished by cutthroat
competition and the dominance of large security groups, both domestic and foreign. The
Philippine market was also changing with its multinational clients moving into global
security contracts. Rapidly improving surveillance and monitoring technologies were
redefining roles formerly done by entire guarding teams. Eventually, a highly
interconnected and tech savvy client base were demanding guards and guard force
managers to be active partners in creating more value to the organizations they were
serving. Security service providers were being held accountable for more and better

vehicle and service platform. This company is led by its Principal JOHN F. WALKER, a
highly decorated retired US Air Force officer. WALKER has decades of
successful security and risk management leadership experience across the Philippines
and the Asia Pacific.
