LGPC launches 1st Kasadyahan sa Sanag
With the theme, Paskong Pinoy: Liwanag sa Bagong Pilipinas, Leon Ganzon Polytechnic College launches its 1st Kasadyahan sa Sanag this Wednesday evening, December 11, 2024.
The event is a form of thanksgiving for all the accomplishments the institution and its personnel achieved for the year, as well as a part of LGPC’s Community Outreach Program, Pag-ulikid, and an Income Generating Project for its learners.
Dr. Ariel Reckonette B. Villanueva, Vocational School Superintendent I, welcomed the guests with a brief message and led the official countdown to the opening of lights; with fireworks illuminating the evening sky and Christmas lights and lanterns highlighting the school’s brilliant nightscape.
The event also featured a Parol-Making Contest, where 9 giant stars are contending to win the grand prize: Parol Kaagapay by IET 3-1B, HRST 2-1E and 2-1B; Parol ng Tagumpay by IET 1-1A and HRST 2-1F; Parol ng Gabay by IET 2-1B and HRST 3-1B; Parol ng Pangarap by IET 2-1E and HRST 3-1A; Parol ng Pagkakaisa by IET 1-1B and HRST 2-1A; Parol ng Talino by IET 2-1C and HRST 2-1D; Parol ng Pag-asa by IET 3-1A and HRST 1-1B; Parol ng Pag-unlad by IET 2-1A and 1-1A; and Parol ng Husay by IET 2-1D and HRST 2-1C.
Moreover, the program included giving of certificates to selected personnel and students to honor and recognize their contributions to the school, namely: Mr. Reo N. Daniel, Instructor III, together with HRST students Ronan Kyle Moya and Hans Lachica, for wining 1st Place in the “Namit” Cooking Contest during the Tumandok Festival 2024 of Iloilo; Mrs. Dana Mae G. Betita, Instructor II, for passing the Competency Assessment in Food Production (Professional Cookery) NC III; and Mrs. Joeselle C. Singson, Asst. Prof I, for her invaluable service as Rainbow Ville’s Manager.
Following the segment, a turn-over ceremony for the new managers of Rainbow Ville and the School Canteen also took place, wherein Mrs. Betita bestowed the Key of Responsibility to Mrs. Ruby P. Napico, School Librarian I, as the new Canteen Manager; and on the other hand, Mrs. Betita accepted the Key of Responsibility from Mrs. Singson, as the new Rainbow Ville Manager.
The launching of the Kasadyahan sa Sanag opened LGPC’s gates to everyone who wanted to join the merrymaking; from family and friends to visitors, wherein Hon. Filomeno V. Ganzon, Municipal Mayor, together with members of the Sangguniang Bayan and other invited guests, graced the school to give their support for the event.
With booths and tables set-up for everyone to dine in, the students were also able to showcase their talents and skills by serving foods and drinks made by theirs truly; as well as solicit applause from the crowd with their Christmas inspired intermission numbers.
Additionally, guests who came to chill were able to listen and relax to the busking of the featured band, while children of all ages enjoyed themselves in the inflatable bounce houses, and those who came for the aesthetics found themselves immersed in impromptu photo shoot among the array of lights.
In the words of Dr. Villanueva, Kasadyahan sa Sanag is one proof of LGPC’s inclusion in the Tourism Circuit of the Municipality of Balasan and of the Province of Iloilo; and also a part of the school’s efforts to move closer towards its vision to be a leading polytechnic college in the tourism sector in the Western Visayas region.
Most importantly, Kasadyahan sa Sanag is a hope for an even better year to come, an insignia of what LGPC’s potential can reach; a milestone in the school’s never ending journey to seek excellence, and a testimony to the creativity and resilience of the personnel and students that not even the cold winds of the yuletide season can dampen.
