𝐉𝐅𝐊-𝐌𝐍𝐋 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐎-𝐌𝐍𝐋 𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐕𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐯𝐞𝐫

All PAL flights from New York JFK to Manila (PR 127) and from Toronto to Manila (PR 119) are temporarily being rerouted to avoid flying through Russian airspace for now.

As a result of the longer routings, our JFK-Manila and Toronto-Manila will need to stop over briefly in Vancouver for refueling before proceeding to Manila.

We are taking this precautionary measure in view of airspace closure concerns related to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

A one-hour refueling stop and the longer routing over the North Pacific Ocean will increase travel time. We seek the kind understanding of our passengers for this necessary step, as safety and operational integrity remains the cornerstone of our operations.

However, our eastbound flights from Manila (PR 126 and PR 118) will continue to operate nonstop Manila to New York JFK, and nonstop Manila to Toronto. (These flights do not overfly Russian territory.)

We will revert to nonstop JFK-MNL and Toronto-MNL flights as soon as we are confident that operational issues are resolved.

GENSAN AIRPORT ❤️🏗️🇵🇭

The DOTr and CAAP have completed the expansion and rehabilitation of the existing Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) of the General Santos Airport, as well as the installation of navigational aids, and construction of an Administration Building.

With the expanded and much-improved airport, a total of two (2) million passengers per year can now be accommodated, from the previous passenger capacity of only 800,000. The General Santos Airport is now the first-ever contactless airport in Mindanao—as Secretary Tugade reiterated—to ensure the overall welfare of the air-riding public, as well as their comfort and convenience.

DOTr Sec Art Tugade said that starting December 9, Philippine Airlines will again start their international operation, GenSan - Kuala Lumpur - Gensan. 🇵🇭

Additional improvements for the airport, which are currently underway and are nearing completion, include a power system and construction of airside perimeter road and fence.
