The Jama Masjid in Delhi is considered the best mosque built during the Mughal Empire.

Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan built Jama Masjid between 1650 and 1656, at the highest
point of Shahjahanabad. The mosque was designed by architect Ustad Khalil and built
by approximately 5,000 workers. The workforce was diverse, consisting of Indians,
Arabs, Persians, Turks and Europeans.
Raj Ghat is a monument to Mahatma Gandhi. It is located not far from the Yamuna
River and was originally the name of a historical ghat. There was the

the walled city, which opened into Raj Ghat on the Yamuna. Eventually, it was here that
Mahatma Gandhi'
s last rites were performed on January 31, 1948, a day after his death.
A black marble platform marks the site of Mahatma Gandhi'

adorned with flowers. The monument was designed by Vanu G. Bhuta, who intended it
to reflect the simplicity of the Mahatma

India Gate - The All India War Memorial, popularly known as India Gate, is located
along Rajpath in New Delhi. The imposing structure of India Gate is an impressive sight
and is often compared to the Arc de Triomphe in France, India Gate in Mumbai and the
Arch of Constantine in Rome. This 42 meter high historic structure was designed by Sir
Edwin Lutyens and is one of the largest war memorials in the country. India Gate is also
famous for hosting the Republic Day Parade every year.

An architectural masterpiece, the Agra Red Fort or Agra Fort was built by Emperor

Mughal art and architecture, built exclusively from red sandstone. Within the premises
of Agra Fort are the most exquisite structures such as the Pearl Mosque, Diwan-i I
Khas, Diwan-i I Aam, Moti Masjid and Jahangiri Mahal. A part of Agra Fort used by the
Indian Army is off-limits to public access. The view of the Yamuna River and the Taj

Amer Fort - Cradled on a hilltop near Jaipur is the Amer Fort, one of the most
magnificent palaces in India. Also commonly known as the Amber Fort, this majestic
building with its labyrinthine passageways and winding staircases is an architectural
masterpiece and has significant importance in the history of India. Just 11 kilometers
from Jaipur, Amer Fort is clad in pink and yellow sandstone and is part of a sprawling
complex. Built by one of Akbar
'
s most trusted generals, Maharaja Man Singh I in the
year 1592, Amer Fort served as the main residence of the Rajput rulers.

Hawa Mahal - The massive building of Hawa Mahal is located at the intersection of
Jaipur

s main road, Badi Chaupad, and was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in
the year 1799. Hawa Mahal derives its name from its unique structure, which is a mesh
of small windows that allowed cool wind to enter the palace and therefore kept the
palace comfortable during the hot summer months. The main reason behind the
construction of the palace was to allow the women of the royal household to observe
the festivities in the streets without being seen from the outside as was customary in
the land. It is located right on the edge of City Palace Jaipur and extends up to the

City Palace -The magnificent City Palace of Jaipur is one of the most famous tourist
attractions located in the old part of the city. Built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh during
the years 1729 to 1732, the vast palace complex occupied one-seventh of the walled
city. In fact, it was once the seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur. The palace is divided into
a series of courtyards, buildings and gardens, including the Chandra Mahal and the
Mubarak Mahal. The museum exhibits various unique handicrafts and other things that
belong to the royal heritage of the City Palace.
Jantar Mantar - Located near the City Palace in the majestic city of Jaipur, Jantar
Mantar is the largest stone astronomical observatory in the world. Due to its rich
cultural, heritage and scientific value, Jantar Mantar in Jaipur has also been included
in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This ancient studio has nineteen
instruments constructed of stone and brass and was built by Raja Sawai Jai Singh in
1727-33. The clever construction and placement of these instruments allowed
observers to notice the position of celestial bodies only with the naked eye. Time has
not been able to put dust on this engineering marvel and it still works as well as it used
to in the old days.

Qutub Minar - Qutub Minar is a minaret or victory tower located in the UNESCO World
Heritage-listed Qutub complex in the Mehrauli area of Delhi. With a height of 72.5
meters (238 ft), Qutub Minar is the second tallest monument in Delhi. Its construction
was started in 1192 by Qutb Ud-Din-Aibak, founder of the Delhi Sultanate after
defeating the last Hindu ruler of Delhi. He built the basement, after which the
construction passed to his son-in-law and successor Iltutmish, who built three
additional floors. The fourth and fifth floors were built by Firoz Shah Tuglak.
Lotus Temple :-This temple is also called the Mother Temple of the Indian
subcontinent. At the same time, it is also one of the major tourist destinations in India.
Tourists from all corners of the world come to see the beauty of this temple. This Lotus
Temple built in the shape of a lotus flower has also been awarded many architectural
awards for its beauty.
A person of any religion can come to visit this beautiful temple built in the year 1986. It
is a temple of Bahá'í worship, where no idol of God is kept, nor is any kind of worship
performed here, people come here alone for its tranquility and you sit for hours and
