Stakeholders and the Technical Working Group of the Butig Tourism Development Plan (TDP) held a 2nd Round of Review last July 22, 2023 at the Ragayan Training Center, Marantao, Lanao del Sur.
The activity solicited opinions and suggestions on the proposed Butig Tourism Development Plan. With the additional comments and strengthened recommendations for Butig's TDP, necessary revisions and accurate data from significant stakeholders were promptly acknowledged thereby enhancing the tourism plan.
Relevant stakeholders such as the Dean of the College of Forestry and Environmental Sciences, Professor from the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management, the President of the Association of Lanao del Sur Tourism Officers, Municipal Tourism Officer of Butig, representative from this office and the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur all contributed to the formulation of a solid vision and mission for the said TDP.
The TDP is a peace building intervention of the Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) in Butig that is banking on the positive impact of the tourism industry to bring about peace and development in the once conflict-stricken municipality.
The activity is a testament to the commitment of MPOS, through the formulation of TDP, to foster peace and development in Butig.
