Joint Committee and Public Hearing of the Official Panagsasalog Festival Music

On August 8, the Committee on Tourism chaired by Councilor Jamina Anne O. Tolentino held a joint committee and public hearing with the proposed ordinance entitled “Adopting the Official Panagsasalog Festival Music in the municipality of Maddela.”

Under Section 4 of the proposed ordinance, the Official Panagsasalog Festival Music entitled “INTAYON SUMALOG” shall be used in all official events, programs, and activities related to the Panagsasalog Festival. This includes but is not limited to: Opening and closing ceremonies of the Festival, Parades and processions during the festival, cultural presentation and performance, and promotional materials and advertisements for the festival.

Also in attendance were Ms. Kathrina S. Cardenas, STOO; Ms. Manelyn Albano, AO III; and Mr. Joseph Orias, Tourism Staff.

LOOK || On July 23, 2024, the Maddela Tourism, Culture and the Arts Office, led by Senior Tourism Operations Officer Ma'am Kathrina S. Cardenas, successfully held the Tourism Council and Culture and the Arts Council Meeting at the LDRRMO Function Hall.

Meeting Highlights:
• Approval of the Municipal Tourism Development Plan: The plan has been officially approved, setting a strategic framework for future tourism development.
• Updates on Tourism, Culture, and Arts Activities: Recent and ongoing activities were reviewed, providing insight into current projects and programs.
• Discussion on Upcoming Tourism Activities: Plans for future events and initiatives were discussed to enhance tourism in Maddela.
• Tourist Attractions Status and Accreditation: The status of local attractions and their accreditation processes were addressed to ensure quality and compliance.

The meeting was attended by the SB Member and Committee on Tourism, Hon. Jamina Anne O. Tolentino, and ABC President, Hon. Reynald G. Ramos. Their participation underscored the collaborative effort in shaping the tourism landscape of Maddela.

This gathering underscore Maddela's commitment to developing its tourism sector and preserving its cultural heritage, with collaborative efforts from various stakeholders to drive progress

LOOK || We are happy and glad to announce the outcome of our 3rd Cultural Training Workshop, which was held in Pedlisan, Maddela, Quirino from July 15 – 17, 2024. 🎉

Our deepest gratitude goes to the Gabay Ethnic Dancers as well as through the hard work of our volunteer junior and senior trainers. Participants in this program received knowledge on different Kankanaey dances, gong-bearing craft and how to put on Igorot attires the right way.

The initiative was led by a former SK Chairman Christian U. Bol-igen from Pedlisan making our cultural heritage come alive.
