Privileged to take a selfie with champion Wang of China (PTS4 Men) at the 2024 Asia Triathlon Para Championships Subic Bay, where he finished the Sprint Distance in 1:06:39. Wang, originally a swimmer, won 1 gold and 2 silver medals at the 2012 Summer Paralympics and is now a successful para triathlete.

The Root of My Passion in Sports Photography.

In the heart of my passion for sports photography lies a rich tapestry of experiences from my early days immersed in various sports. From the swift exchanges of table tennis to the precise aim of darts, the thunderous dribbles of basketball to the elegant volleys of tennis, each sport contributed to shaping my understanding and appreciation of athleticism.

Pride swelled within me as I exceeded expectations in some of these pursuits. Amidst the trophies that adorned my shelves, there was a poignant reminder of the passage of time. In an old photograph, half of the gleaming trophies stood tall, while the other half remained missing or broken, casualties of forgotten victories lost in the confines in our family old house. Yet, even in their fragmented state, they symbolized the countless memories and lessons gleaned from my sporting endeavors.

Yet, amidst the fragments of shattered dreams, a new passion blossomed—sports photography. Behind the lens, I found a way to preserve the essence of competition and camaraderie. Each click captured not just moments frozen in time but the raw emotion and intensity that defined each game.

As I gaze upon the remnants of my past triumphs, I realize that my true legacy lies not in the trophies gathering dust but, in the memories, immortalized through my lens. They are the fragments of my journey, the root of my unwavering passion for sports photography.

For this shot, I relied on my trusty paired with a lens. However, the prospect of an advanced mirrorless camera is on the horizon. The evolution of auto-focus tracking systems in these new models is pivotal in achieving sharper and more dynamic shots in the world of sports photography.
