𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬|| MONDAY, NOVEMBER 27 IS A REGULAR HOLIDAY in celebration of Bonifacio Day, traditionally held on Nov. 30.

This is pursuant to Proclamation No. 90 (amending Proclamation No. 42, series 2022), issued by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in November 2022, which moves the commemoration of Bonifacio Day to Nov. 27, 2023, the nearest Monday to its original date, Nov. 30, 2023. This is in line with what officials described as “holiday economics.”

“There is a need to adjust these holidays (regular and special non-working days) pursuant to the principle of holiday economics wherein a longer weekend will help encourage domestic travel and increase tourism expenditures in the country,” the proclamation read.

Sts. Joachim & Anne Parish Church in Malinao, Albay

One of the oldest if not the oldest church in Albay, the Church of Saints Joachim and Anne was built in 1660. It was also made of volcanic blocks. Its ceilings, doors, and pulpit were made of hardwood. The original nipa roofing was replaced with galvanized iron sheets. It has been renovated repeatedly over the years. The pediment shows a painting of St. Anne riding a cow, a depiction of one miraculous night when the saint saved the town from Moro attack.

SOA is an upland barangay in the municipality of Malinao, province of Albay where the famous Vera's Falls is situated. This tourist spot is often visited by both local and foreign tourists all year round due to its clear and cold bluish water. With its calm and refreshing ambiance, Vera's Falls is a perfect place for both family and friends to get together especially during summer season.

Just a few simple request and reminder to our dear visitors:
Be a responsible tourist.
Be environmentally friendly.
Please LEAVE NO TRASH.

Note:
If planning a visit, you don't have to bring drinking water. The water coming from the rocky side part of the falls is spring water -- very clean and potable. Still, it's up to you.
