It offers a stunning view of Lake Lanao. Its horizon reaches the Piyapayungan Range, Kalatungan Range, Kitanglad Range and even the far off Mt. Hibok-hibok in Camiguin Island.

MEET THE BOULDER FACE'S ALPHA MALE

In one of his regular climbs, Lakaw ni Paw recorded a rare appearance of an Alpha Male Philippine Long-tailed Macaque (Macaca fascicularis philippensis) within the Boulder Face side of Mt. Apo, Sta. Cruz Trail.

This fauna is endemic in the Philippines and is considered as an endangered species.

In view of the incoming tropical depression Obet, all guests, trekkers, organizers are advised to cancel their trip for public safety and monitor the updates from PAG-ASA.

The typhoon is expected to land tomorrow in Cagayan, Nueva Vizcaya, Region 2 which is geographically adjacent to Mt. Pulag Protected Landscape (MPPL). Strong rains may cause landslips, road slides, flash floods along the way. Zero visibility is also expected thus the sea of clouds could not be seen.

Please give this preferential attention.

LOOK: Juvenile Philippine Eagle “Pamarayeg III” perches majestically on a tree in its natural habitat at Mt. Kitanglad Range Natural Park, Bukidnon, on Sept. 27, 2022. Pamarayeg III is the 10th Philippine Eagle born in the area and the third hatched in three nesting trees 150 meters from each other in a span of four years. The Robert S. Kennedy Bird Conservancy named the elder sibling hatched in 2018 Pamarayeg which is a Bisaya word for ‘a fervent plea or heartfelt request,’ in the hopes that we heed his appeal to protect him and his habitat. Mt. Kiamo (1800+ MASL)
Kibalabag, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon

One of the more familiar mountains on the mountainous city of Malaybalay, it is also known as the Pitcher Plant Mountain due to its abundance of Nephentes sp. The summit offers a 360 degrees view of the surrounding hills, ridges and ranges such as Mt. Kibuwa, Paminawa Ridge, Kitanglad Range and many more.

Note: The "Mt. Kiamo" advertised by many organizers located at Sabangan is actually called Palalihan Peak. It is not a part of Mt. Kiamo.

In the heart of Bukidnon, stands a volcano with many names. “Mt. Kalayo” or “Mt. Calayo” but locally, it is known as “Musuan Peak”. Mt. Calayo has an odd appearance. Unlike other Volcanoes, Mt. Calayo has a different-looking base and a cone. This is due to it being a tuff cone lava dome volcano. Locals would say that it resembles a farmer’s hat, an upside-down bowl, or even a woman’s breast.
This Volcano is one of the easiest Volcanoes in Bukidnon to access due to its location and elevation, bordering Valencia City and Musuan, Maramag.
