What an incredible PTM experience!

Here's a wrap-up video of our 3-day travel and trade expo at the 35th Philippine Travel Mart held last 6-8 September 2024, SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.

We extend our gratitude to all the visitors of the Bangsamoro Pavilion, to those who engaged in our presentation, and to everyone who has been journeying with us since day one.

The rich and vibrant culture of Lanao del Sur shines at the 35th Philippine Travel, the biggest and longest-running travel and trade expo in the country, held last September 6-8, 2024. This year, the Bangsamoro Pavilion features the Torogan - a traditional ancestral house built by the Meranaws. It is a symbol of high social status where the Sultan or Datu in the community resides.

The Bangsamoro takes pride as they won the 2nd runner-up award for the BEST PRESENTATION of tourism and cultural products.

The Bangsamoro Pavilion showcasing the rich and vibrant culture of Lanao del Sur bagged the 2nd runner-up spot for the BEST PRESENTATION category awarded during the closing ceremony of the 35th Philippine Travel Mart (PTM).

The PTM is the longest-running and biggest travel and trade expo in the country that focuses on promoting the popular and emerging tourist destinations in the Philippines.

The Local Government of Butig officially accepted the Tourism Development Plan during a successful ceremonial turnover, spearheaded by the Ministry of Public Order and Safety, marking a historic event as the first Tourism Development Plan adopted in Lanao del Sur on August 19, 2024, at the Sultan Pansar Gymnasium in the Municipality of Butig.

This significant accomplishment signifies a pivotal step towards the revitalization and growth of Butig, championing tourism within a once conflict-affected communities in Lanao del Sur.

The first-ever archaeological excavation in Lanao del Sur has brought to light artifacts that position the historical province on the archaeological map of the Philippines.

This excavation took place at Kota Kalawi, a fort believed to have been constructed by the Meranaws in the 1900s to defend their lands against colonizers.

Discoveries such as pottery fragments, metal tools, and remnants of ancient fortifications offered valuable insights into the Meranaw people's way of life and defense tactics.

The excavation provided a glimpse into the past, shedding light on the struggles and resilience of the Meranaw community against colonization.

The team, which started excavating from July 31 to August 19, included members from BCPCH, UP, MSU-IIT, NCCA, National Museum, MTIT, Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur, and LGU Bacolod Kalawi.
