27 scattered islands scattered over Lianga Bay, crystal clear waters, abundant sea life, and breathtaking views! 🏝️ Welcome to Britania Group of Islands, San Agustin, Surigao del Sur.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
BRITANIA'S FOUR MAJOR ISLANDS.

Naked Islands 🏖️
Hiyor-hiyoran islands 🌊 including smaller ones. These "collection" of islands, from which the name Britania is derived, are uninhabited. The most popular activity here that covers the four major islands is island hopping 🚤 in which tourists can experience.
Hagonoy Island - The first stop. Be in awe of its coconut trees 🌴 that give it those 'island' vibes. Mostly, Instagrammable photos are taken here. 📸

Naked Island - A white sand bar surrounded by crystal clear waters, hence the name. If you wish to achieve that dream tanned skin ☀️, this is the perfect island for you as it has no trees surrounding it. Picture-worthy too! 📷

Boslon Island - More of an adventurer? Worry less, Britania offers you this next stop where most of the island action happens. Tourists come here to experience different types of activities such as banana boat 🍌, flying fish 🐟, and disco ball rides. This island resembles El Nido, Palawan because of its limestone formations. And of course... a picture-worthy stop! 🏞️

Hiyor-hiyoran Island - Usually the last stop. Mostly, what tourists do here is swimming 🏊 or just simply relaxing in the sand.

There's more! Britania offers amazing sea life 🐠. Also, the region is rich with the type of mushroom 🍄 you can eat. (Check the last photo 📸)

HOW TO GET HERE:
BY BUS: Take a trip bound for Butuan. From there, ride a bus bound for Bislig (signboard should have “Mangagoy” on it). Travel time is 3 hours. Then get off at San Franz or Barobo bus terminal. From the terminal, ride a bus/jeep/van headed for Tandag and stop at Salvacion in San Agustin. Lastly, hail a tricycle 🛵 that will take you to the port. 🚢

Boat fee: ₱1500 (to the 4 main islands only) ₱2000 (to all Britania islands) 💰

Travel tip: Visit on low tide so that you get to fully enjoy the Naked Island, which resembles more of a sandbar. Also, don't forget to charge your cellphones 📱 and cameras 📸, and bring sunscreen ☀️ with you!

Let's talk about... CAVES! 🕳️ Not just an ordinary cave... an enchanting cave. 🌟

Lagbasan Cave, Senator Ninoy Aquino, Sultan Kudarat, Mindanao, Philippines. 🏞️ The municipality hosts a lot of caves around its surrounding areas. These caves are considered "world class" 🌍 as most of the reviews state. If you are more into photography 📸 and research 📚, this cave is perfect for you as it only offers entry to both activities. The cave houses speleothems (stalagmites and stalactites) 🌋 which are formed due to the mineral-rich underground water. All these are just a bit of what this cave can truly offer.

NOTES TO REMEMBER:

1 .Be a responsible traveler 🌿.
2. Leave nothing but footprints 👣.

Usually, only one chamber is open to the public. If you want to pursue research about the cave and its enchanting beauty, you will have to ask for special permission.

HOW TO GET HERE:

If you are from outside Mindanao, fly directly to General Santos City, South Cotabato. From the airport ✈️, make your way to the bus terminal and take a bus 🚌 bound for Koronadal City (Marbel). Travel time is about an hour and fare is around 70 pesos. From Koronadal bus terminal, take another bus 🚌 to Isulan, Sultan Kudarat. (c/o Pinoy Adventurista) If you are from Mindanao, take a bus ride to General Santos City 🚌.

Tired of the busy noise of the city? Looking for a breathtaking view of a mountain 🏞️ blanketed with lush greenery that relaxes the eyes and soul of everyone who dares to witness its beauty?

Visit La Palmera Mountain Ridge, Columbio, Sultan Kudarat, Mindanao, Philippines and experience one of the treasured gems in Mindanao. 🌄 The name is derived from the plantations 🌿 that surround the area, which also provides the main livelihood of the B'laans. (Check last photo 📷).

FEES:
La Palmera encourages visitors to book ahead of time, and below are the updated rates as of December 2022:

Day trip entrance fee – Php 100.00 💰
Overnight stay for 2 (with breakfast) – Php 1,500.00 a night 🏠
Rent the whole place for a night (good for 10 to 12 persons) – Php 5,000.00 (inclusive of electric fan rooms, bed and linens, complimentary bottled waters, toiletries, coffee ☕, and a bonfire 🔥 set up)
Note: They collect 100 pesos for each additional person, and the rates offered above are for tourists coming in groups. Tourists or hikers could bring their own tent ⛺ too!
WHAT TO BRING:

Insect repellents 🦟
Extra snacks 🍬 and drinks 🥤 as there are no convenience stores near the area
For your safety, I suggest hiking and leaving La Palmera in daylight ☀️.
Save your habal-habal driver's 🏍️ contact number so you can contact him whenever you want to leave La Palmera.
Cellphones 📱 and Cameras 📸. You don't want to miss the opportunity of capturing one of Sultan Kudarat's treasured gems.
HOW TO GET HERE:

From Davao, take a bus 🚌 ride or a flight ✈️ to General Santos City.
Make your way to Bulaong or Yellow Bus Terminal. Hop onto a van 🚐 or bus 🚌 going to Tacurong City. The trip may take 2 hours with the fare Php 170.00 (bus). You may want to check Yellow Bus’s page for updates regarding their trip schedules and cancellations.
From the drop-off point, walk to the tricycle 🛵 stop, then take one going to Datu Paglas. Fare is at Php 50.00 and the trip may take an hour. You may also opt to go straight to Columbio through taking another tricycle, but some tour guides would recommend coming from the town themselves.

Mt. Capistrano is one of the popular mountains in Mindanao! 🌄 It boasts its wonderful and peaceful panoramic greenery view, where you can see the whole village from up above. The unique overlooking Basakan rice fields, mountain ranges, and some beautiful rock formations and caves are what pique the hikers’ interests.

It is located at Sitio Binalbagan, Purok 9, Brgy. Simaya, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, just a 2-hour drive from Davao City Proper. 🚗 With a height of 2,000 feet or 609.6 meters above sea level, it offers a thrilling trekking adventure. Hikers who wish to trail the steep hill are required to visit the locals to pay the environmental fee and registration, which is PHP 20 or USD 0.35, and consider hiring a recommended tour guide for the whole summit, which only costs around PHP 500 or USD 8.80.

HOW TO GET THERE:

Book a motorcycle or what is called a “habal-habal.” 🏍️ A 15-minute ride from Sayre-Aglayan highway will take you to the base of the mountain.
Hiking time depends on your stamina and endurance, as well as your trekking experience, but for most people, it will be around 2 hours, rest and picture-taking included. Although this mountain isn’t as dangerous to trek as some others, it is still highly suggested to take precautions before the trip starts due to the high risk of climate change. But worry not, all trekkers and hikers are required to have an orientation for safety purposes and to ensure a well-disciplined travel.

The best time to start onto the steep and challenging hill is as early as dawn. 🌅 So, you can witness the extraordinary and breathtaking sea of clouds. ☁️
