STATEMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM (DOT)
ON THE RT-PCR REQUIREMENT FOR LEISURE TRAVELERS UNDER IATF-EID RESOLUTION 118A

The Department of Tourism (DOT) wishes to issue a clarification regarding the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) Resolution 118A, which allowed leisure travel between the NCR Plus Bubble and Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) areas to resume from June 1 to 15, 2021.

The DOT clarifies that under Resolution 118A, those ages below 18 and above 65 years old are permitted to travel for leisure provided that they undergo RT-PCR test before travel. The very same requirement still applies to travelers that fall within the 18 to 65 age group, if so required by the local government unit (LGU) of destination, or in the case of Boracay Island, the Boracay Inter-Agency Task Force (BIATF), which requires all tourists to present a negative RT-PCR test result prior to visiting the island.

The DOT likewise reminds all leisure travelers to book their RT-PCR test only with COVID-19 testing laboratories that are licensed and accredited by the Department of Health (DOH), and to practice minimum health protocols and responsible tourism when visiting the country’s reopened tourism destinations.

Good News!!!

Check this good news from DOT and TPB!

The Department of Tourism, through the Tourism Promotions Board, has partnered with the University of the Philippines - Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) to subsidize 50 percent of the PHP1,800 RT-PCR testing cost administered by PGH.

The program aims for a safe, more accessible travel for all domestic travelers, and to provide a more affordable option in support of the gradual reopening of local travel destinations.

To avail of the subsidy, tourists must register at https://www.tpb.gov.ph/rtpcrphtravel five days before scheduled departure. For more details, check out the photos below.

PAL's in-house PCR Test Center provides pre-flight convenience

Philippine Airlines is offering passengers who need RT-PCR testing for their flights (domestic/international) the convenience of its own RT-PCR testing center in Manila, with test results released within 12 to 24 hours.

Starting December 1, PAL ticket holders will enjoy a PHP500 discount from the PHP 4,500 regular rate.

The COVID-19 RT-PCR testing site is located at the Philippine Airlines Learning Center in Ermita, Manila with Detoxicare Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory as its DOH-accredited partner.

The PAL testing center's competitive advantage lies in providing flexibility of choice, early release of results and pricing perks.

PAL ticket holders may choose either a drive-thru or walk-in service option. The testing facility is open daily from Monday to Sunday from 8AM to 5PM with no noon break.

Passengers will experience pre-departure convenience with the testing facility's guaranteed release of results within 24 hours.

PAL travelers may pay in cash (PHP only), card (debit or credit), GCash, PayPal™, WeChat Pay, or Alipay.

Upon entering the testing facility, PAL passengers must present their ID, PAL ticket, and QR code indicating completed registration on the PAL Passenger Profile and Health Declaration form. PAL passengers may access the form at https://bit.ly/PALIntPPHD.

Except for flights to the US, Canada, and Australia, all passengers must register and accomplish the online Passenger Profile and Health Declaration Form as early as 5 days before departure. For a list of countries where PAL flies to and are requiring RT-PCR tests, passengers are advised to visit https://bit.ly/PALTravelsFromPH.

In the meantime, PAL has also partnered with other accredited laboratory and testing facilities to provide passengers exclusive and discounted testing fees and/or quicker release of results. Passengers may visit www.philippineairlines.com for the full list of PAL other testing partners.

There are currently eight testing partners with more than 50 branches combined, available within Metro Manila and other Provinces like Cavite, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, Batangas, Iloilo, and Cebu. The testing fee and release of results vary among testing partners.

To avail of the services of PAL's other testing partners, passengers must proceed to the testing facility and present their ID, PAL Ticket, and QR Code indicating completion of registration via the PAL Passenger Profile and Health Declaration Form.

How to register? Just these simple steps:

• Download the TRAZE App from your mobile store and install it on your phone
• Open the app and click the “Register” button below. Register as “Individual.”
• Just follow the instructions indicated in the app and input the needed information
• Activate your account

Meanwhile, for passengers who do not have mobile phones or any other mobile gadget, they may go to the Malasakit Helpdesk at the airport where they will be provided assistance in getting a unique QR code. Or, they may likewise ask a family member to register them with the app.

The QR code can be used at any DOTr Office nationwide.

TRAZE, a nationwide and unified contact tracing app is co-developed by the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) and Cosmotech Philippines, Inc., which enables the government’s contact tracing efforts to be strengthened and be more efficient.

With TRAZE, the contact tracing process can now be done in just a few minutes, unlike the usual and manual process. Not only that—you can also be assured that your data is safe and secured, as the app fully complies with the Data Privacy Act (DPA) or Republic Act No. 10173. Further, it does not use bluetooth or GPS, and it works well even with slow mobile data and WiFi!
