Miss Universe Celebrates Women’s Equality Day On Board Carnival Vista

Miss Universe R’Bonney Gabriel, along with fellow titleholders Miss Universe Aruba 2022 Kiara Arends and Miss Universe El Salvador 2022 Alejandra Guajardo Sada, celebrated Women’s Equality by speaking with Carnival Vista Captain Claudio Bozzo and female deck and engine officers about the importance of women’s empowerment on the bridge of Carnival Vista in Galveston.

Women’s Equality Day celebrates and honors the women’s suffrage movement and acknowledges the hurdles that women have had to overcome in their stride towards equality and progress. Gabriel, a Houston native, is the first Filipino-American to win Miss Universe and Miss USA, and much of her platform is about embracing one’s culture. Her mission is to inspire women and young girls to achieve their goals while owning who they are.

“The Miss Universe Organization advocates for a future forged by women,” said Gabriel. “It’s gratifying to meet with the women of Carnival Vista today, and see that they are also breaking barriers and achieving success in non-traditional roles.”

“At Carnival, we have been focused on our diversity, equity and inclusion efforts for several years,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “We’ve made progress and our Deck and Engine women officers have increased significantly, along with an increase in women leaders across other departments. I’m so pleased that R’Bonney and her fellow titleholders could be with us on Women’s Equality Day as they represent a sisterhood that is committed to uplifting each other.”

Mardi Gras answered a call from the U.S. Coast Guard to rescue a couple from a sailboat last August 7.

The couple was stranded about 20 nautical miles from Castle Island, Bahamas, and Mardi Gras was less than nine miles from them when the Coast Guard’s call was received by the ship’s officers. As the ship’s team approached the sailboat, a lifeboat was lowered from Mardi Gras to make the rescue just after 1 a.m.

Due to the forecasted bad weather brought about by Typhoon "Egay" and the scheduled 72-hour Metro Manila transport strike, please be advised that the TM Center's operations on July 24, Monday, will be limited to:

- Dispatch (with TMHub appointments)
- Urgent Dispatch without appointments (i.e., traveling on July 25/within 24 hours)
- Document submission (except visa)
- Ship assignment/POEA Contract changes (subject to POEA system availability)

Team Members without TMHub appointments are advised to visit the TM Center on Tuesday, July 25.

THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) is set to kick-off its modernization program with the launch of a digital app containing the overseas Filipino worker (OFW) pass.

Once officially activated, the OFW pass will serve as an alternative digital and secure version of the Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC).
.. the OEC will not be phased out immediately as there will be a two to three-month transition period to help OFWs who will be needing guidance to download and use the application.

Time is of the essence when confirming your assignment.

Before using TMHub, make sure you have the latest version of the app and have stable Internet connection.

Being unable to access TMHub delays the process of uploading your documents and may cause you to miss important information. If you forget your password, click “Forget password?” on the TMHub or TM Portal homepage.

Here are some important reminders:

1. A temporary password will be sent to the email address you registered with Carnival within 24 hours. Check your Junk/Spam folder if you don’t see it in your main Inbox.

2. Be patient! DO NOT request another password within the same 24-hour period.

3. If you requested a temporary password for one application, DO NOT request another temporary password from another application (e.g., if you click “Forget password” on TMHub, do not do the same on TM Portal).

4. If you change your password on TMHub, the new password will be used for TM Portal and MyPerformance as well.

5. If you’re still having TMHub login issues after changing your password, uninstall the app and reinstall it on your device.
