Puerto Princesa Palawan Tour Guide Association Celebrates 27 Years with Heartwarming Outreach Program, December 23, 2024 at Barangay Mangingisda.

"Pasko Ko, Pasko Mo" Theme Brings Joy to Children in Need

Puerto Princesa City, Palawan — The Puerto Princesa Palawan Tour Guide Association (PPPTGA), a cornerstone of the Palawan tourism industry since 1997, marked its 27th anniversary with a meaningful outreach program under the theme, "Pasko Ko, Pasko Mo." The event, held despite challenging weather conditions, showcased the association's commitment to community service and social responsibility.

Led by the dynamic Ms. Christy F. Jimeno, PPPTGA's president, the program aimed to spread holiday cheer to the children of Bahay Pag-asa and Boys Town. A total of 66 children were treated to a day filled with joy, entertainment, and heartfelt connections.

The event began with a breakfast and a briefing at Jollibee Junction 2, where PPPTGA members, including Vice President Jasper Gillamac, Treasurer Emily, Board of Trustee Daisy, and associates Gracial and Maribeth, came together to finalize preparations. Undeterred by heavy rains and flooding, the group traveled to the facility, where they were warmly welcomed by Ms. Noe Nowy, the coordinator for the children.

A Memorable Day of Giving

The day featured a vibrant program that left smiles on the faces of both children and volunteers. Highlights included:

A heartfelt message from President Christy F. Jimeno, inspiring everyone with the association’s mission of service.

A puppet show by the talented Master Ernie, captivating the young audience.

A live singing performance by Sunshine, adding a melodic touch to the festivities.

Energetic comedic hosting by Vice President Jasper Gillamac, keeping spirits high.

The event culminated in the distribution of gift packs and special presents, generously prepared by PPPTGA members and sponsors. The collective effort created a festive atmosphere of hope and connection, leaving a lasting impact on the children and volunteers alike.

Arki Run 2024: A Triumph for Puerto Princesa’s Tour Guides

The vibrant city of Puerto Princesa recently hosted the much-anticipated Arki Run 2024, an event that brought together athletes, professionals, and fitness enthusiasts from all walks of life. Among the remarkable participants were members of the Puerto Princesa Palawan Tour Guides Association (PPPTGA), who showcased not only their guiding prowess but also their dedication to health, fitness, and community advocacy.

Highlights of the Event

5km Female Category

Socrates clinched 2nd place, proudly taking her place on the podium. A mother and a professional tour guide, Angie is an embodiment of strength, perseverance, and inspiration. Her achievement is a testament to the dedication and discipline she balances in her personal and professional life.

5km Male Category

Diwara the Secretary of PPPTGA, secured 5th place. A true multi-hyphenate, Dave is a Doctor of Psychology, a TESDA assessor, and now a committed tour guide. His achievement reflects his unwavering drive and commitment to excellence in all his endeavors.

Jeron Paduga , a licensed tour guide and vlogger affiliated with Solteros Travel and Tours, finished in 7th place. Jeron’s passion for storytelling and exploration, both on tours and through his vlogs, inspires many in the tourism industry and beyond.
