#FUNFACTS: DID YOU KNOW?
Four Filipino students invents a pedal operated sweeper to help MMDA road sweepers and make their work less difficult.
The "pedal operated road sweeper" is a thesis project ofLouise Altez, Dennis Sagurit, Jasper Gumayagay at CJ Amurao, who are mechanical engineering students of TIP Quezon City.
They drew inspiration from hard working street sweepers in Metro Manila especially the elderly street sweepers.
It took them 6months for the project and spent around Php 6,000 to acquire recycled materials to complete their invention.

[One Day, One Experience] Exploring The Philippines With Filipino Deaf Tour Guides
BEST OF THE PHILIPPINES: Exploring The Philippines With Filipino Deaf Tour Guides
Persons with disabilities (PWDs) aren't always first in mind when it comes to travel and tourism. To this day, there are many obstacles that hinder them from fully appreciating the places they're visiting.
Lack of proper facilities or visual and hearing aids for tourists with disabilities can easily dissuade them from learning more about the Philippines.
One such organization aiming to make the tourism industry better for the hearing-impaired is the DEAFinite Tour Guiding Services (DTGS).
They are a professional organization consisting of deaf community tour guides accredited by the Department of Tourism (DOT). The DTGS's goal is to make Metro Manila accessible for deaf tourists all over the world.
Deafinite Tour Guiding Services is a Deaf-owned tour company in the Philippines. They have 13 Deaf trained employees communicate in International Sign and American Sign Language.
Join us on September 4, at 7PM as the team behind the Deafinite Tour Guiding Services shares their stories and experiences on how they are making Philippine travel accessible to deaf tourists.

#FUNFACTS: DID YOU KNOW?
The Philippines has always helped and opened her borders to foreign refugees since 1923. Now, we are doing it for our Afghanistan brothers and sister.
👉 1923 - White Russians fleeing Socialist Russia
👉 1930s - Jews Escaping Nazi Germany
👉 1939 - Spanish Exiles after Spanish Civil War
👉 1940 - Chinese mainlanders running from Communism
👉 1947 - White Russians second wave
👉 1975 to 1992 - Vietnamese "Boat People" from Vietnam War
👉 1979 - Iranians fleeing Iranian Revolution
👉 1980 to 1994 - Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam refugees from regime changes
👉 1999 - East Timorese during their struggle for Independence from Indonesia
👉 2016 - Rohingya fleeing from genocide in Myanmar
👉 2021 - Afghanistan fleeing from the Talibans.
As the saying goes, “Do things for people not because of who they are or what they do in return, but because of who you are.”
We believe deep down that is what we Filipinos are - WE ARE A CARING PEOPLE and that is where our strength comes from.

#FUNFACT: DID YOU KNOW?
There is a mysterious city in Samar, Philippines that is invisible to the eye.
Biringan City is a mythical city similar to places like Atlantis and Shangri-La.
Some say that this city is an otherworldly realm of the engkantos, which can be accessed through one of the seven portals of the city.
Those who have been to Biringan City claim that the city is reminiscent of New York and Hong Kong but with a dark aura. The architecture of the structures in the city is ahead of our time. The structures are described to be towering cathedral-like buildings with spires. Inhabitants of the city look like locals but only wear black, only eat black food and have no upper lip.
It is believed that when an engkanto becomes attracted to a person, the person is bewitched by the engkanto and lured into Biringan City.
The city is believed to be found between the municipalities of Gandara, Tarangnan, and Pagsanhan in Samar, but it only shows itself to those who are lured into the mysterious city.
