The Caraga State University (CSU) issues this advisory to uphold its commitment to advancing research and fulfilling its social responsibility to provide accurate information to the public regarding a recently published article.

The study, conducted by CSU-affiliated researchers, was presented at key events such as the 1st Mindanao Inter-Island Network Forum organized by NEDA and the Science and Technology Week organized by DOST-Caraga. Additionally, the research team shared the study's findings with the recipient municipality to promote transparency and collaboration.

This advisory seeks to address and correct misconceptions resulting from misinformation circulating on social media platforms. The university underscores the importance of disseminating clear and accurate information to prevent the spread of false narratives and ensure that the public is well-informed.

The Municipality of Alegria, Surigao del Norte marked a significant milestone in disaster preparedness and emergency response with the blessing and inauguration of the Alegria, SDN MDRRM Office Emergency Operations Center (EOC) on Thursday, January 9, 2025. The new facility, located on the third floor of the Municipal Hall, was blessed by Rev. Fr. Ricardo A. Virtudazo, DCS, parish priest of San Isidro Parish.

The ceremony also included the blessing of the entire municipal building and its rooms, emphasizing a fresh start for Alegria’s disaster risk reduction initiatives.

The event was graced by notable figures, including Municipal Mayor Rene G. Esma, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, Surigao del Norte PDRRM Officer Cirero Cosme P. Tripoli, and his staff, department heads, and LGU employees.
