Mt. Arayat is an extinct volcano located in Pampaanga with no recorded past eruption and it was well-known for the stories of fairies and other magical creatures that supposedly inhabit its forests. It is now considered as one of the most popular hiking destinations in the Central Luzon region for both minor and major hikers.

In spite of the mystical stories surrounding the mountain, mountaineers are not deterred from exploring the amazing Mt. Arayat. The trail’s difficulty level is rated 4/10 which can be considered as challenging hike for beginners and easy-to-moderate level for seasoned mountain climbers. Mt. Arayat is a perfect getaway for those who are looking for a fascinating day-trip adventure.

TRIVIA!
Did you know that before hikers discovered the beauty and wonders of Mt. Arayat, the locals believed that a fairy or goddess, depending on the version of the story - called Mariang Sinukuan or Sucu inhabited the mountain?
