Downtown Birmingham is feeling more revitalized than ever, as several historic buildings have been reimagined as restaurants by local chefs. Five-time James Beard finalist Rob McDaniel, who grew up 80 miles from the city, opened contemporary Southern grill Helen in 2020 inside a 1920s shotgun-style building. You can smell his wood-fired meats from the sidewalk, and inside every meal starts with warm angel biscuits topped with whipped cane syrup butter. A block away at The Essential, Southern-bred chef Victor King and pastry chef Kristen Hall have partnered with farmers to serve vegetable-heavy dishes, homemade pastas, and the tastiest desserts in town (look for Parisian-inspired Bar La Fête from the duo in early 2022).

This was the year of getting back out there—as vaccines became readily available in the spring and borders opened slowly throughout the summer and fall, our travel calendars began to fill up once again. Now, as we look ahead to what 2022 has in store, it’s clear that our travel priorities have changed. We’re no longer checking destinations off a list; instead we’re being purposeful about why we choose to take a trip, and thoughtful about how our actions impact local communities while we’re there.

You probably know Bruges and Brussels and may have heard about Antwerp. Ghent offers the best of each of them! It is as cosmopolitan and lively as Antwerp, as quiet as a walk along the canals in Bruges as gastronomical as Brussels. Ghent is one of the most beautiful destinations in Europe but also one of the most romantic. Dynamic and young, Ghent is also a perfect destination for a shopping or cultural city break with its many museums and events throughout the year.
Bourgeois and dynamic city, Ghent is a bit like “Bordeaux”. The city is young and proud of its traditions and its past; it is looking to the future, but with its roots firmly anchored in its history. There is too much to see for an overnight stay, so treat yourself to some extra nights and experience a quirky weekend

Mix of gastronomy, relaxation, well-being, Capri is rich in exceptional sites such as the blue grotto that Emperor Tiberius used as a private swimming pool, the white grotto, the gardens of Augustus and its sublime views over Capri and its great variety of Mediterranean plants and flowers, but also the "Arco Naturale" or the famous "Via Krupp": a crisscrossing street that looks a bit like Lombard Street in San Francisco,... places to put at the top of your to do list in Capri.
During your stay in Capri you may come across George Clooney, Leonardo di Caprio or Kim Kardashian West especially if you stay at Casa Margano, Hotel Quisisana, La Scalinatella, 5 stars nestled in the heart of nature with private swimming pools and views of the Mediterranean.

Seven main and magnificent islands await you: Tenerife which is the largest and most populous, Lanzarote and its still active volcano, Fuerteventura, the hottest and flattest with its kilometre-long beaches, La Palma which is the greenest but also the wettest, Gran Canaria which is in the centre and is a good compromise for family holidays or for sportsmen who want to trek on its steep hills, but also the islands of El Hierro, La Graciosa and La Gomera.
If you want to treat yourself to a stay like a star and cross Brad Pit, stay on the island of La Palma at the "Faro Punta Cumplida" hotel. This former lighthouse has been converted into a boutique hotel with 4 magnificent suites. Oscars winners, in addition to their statuette, are invited to this unique hotel in the world. Book your flights to Canary Islands and your accommodation at the best price.

The old Franconian imperial city of Rothenburg is one of the most attractive places to visit on Germany's famous Romantic Road tourist route. Located on the steep banks of the picturesque River Tauber, it's notable for its walls and towers, untouched since the Thirty Years War of 1618.

This completely preserved, picture-perfect medieval town offers endless charm. One of the most popular things to do in Rothenburg ob der Tauber is to join a walking tour (or do it yourself); get started by picking up a map from one of the tourism offices located in the town.

There are no end of opportunities to explore, with individual buildings of note including the imposing 13th-century Town Hall (Rathaus) and the wonderful Ratstrinkstube, or Council Tavern, built in 1466 with its interesting clock. Also worth seeing is St.-Georgs-Brunnen fountain, built in 1608 near the end of Herrngasse; St. James's Church, with its fine high altar dating from 1466; and the Imperial City Museum.

The lovely Bavarian lake of Königssee is one of the great beauty spots of the region of Germany referred to as Berchtesgadener Land. Also known as the King's Lake, this area near Salzburg is a hiking (and biking) paradise thanks to its vast network of trails.

One of the most popular things to do is follow the attractive footpath located along the east side of the Königssee to the Malerwinkel. Also known as Painters' Corner, it's notable for its superb views over the lake and the surrounding mountains.

Another equally attractive sightseeing option is taking a boat trip to the 17th-century Pilgrimage Chapel of St. Bartholomew, at the south end of the lake, and to walk from here to the Obersee. Berchtesgaden, at the end of the Deutsche Alpenstrasse, is perhaps the best-known tourist town and one of the most popular mountain resorts in the Bavarian Alps.

Located in the valley of the Regnitz, where the river divides into two arms, sits Bamberg. This old imperial city is the most important town in Upper Franconia, and is one of the best preserved of Germany's many charming old towns. It's also one of the best to explore on foot.

Your walking tour should begin in its old episcopal quarter, home to the 13th-century cathedral and the old Benedictine abbey of Michaelsberg. It's between the two river branches that you'll find spectacular Bürgerstadt, a small borough of Bamberg that contains the Grüner Markt, an excellent pedestrian zone which is home to the 17th-century Baroque church of St. Martin.

Now head diagonally left up the hill on the other side until you reach another sealed track. Turn left and follow the track out of the deer park to the main road. The entrance to Eastnor Castle is in front of you and well worth exploring if you have the time.

Turn right on the main road, follow it for 50 meters and then turn left down a narrow track that brings you to Eastnor Church

Take the path on the right side of the car park signposted to British Camp (Herefordshire Beacon) and wind your way to the 338-metre summit. Its strange shape is due to the man-made iron age fort that used to command the views of this area.

Having absorbed the vista, head south over Millennium Hill, turn left and zig-zag steeply down before turning right. Stick to the path that keeps the forest closely on your right and after a while the path heads into the trees to Peacock Villa

From here the trail heads south. Take either the sealed path around Summer Hill summit and past Beacon Road Car Park, or the gravel track over the hill and along the top of the ridge until it meets the main B4218. Cross the road and take the path heading up the ridge, keeping the public toilets on your right. The obvious trail now follows the top of the ridge over Perseverance Hill, Jubilee Hill and Pinnacle Hill to the top of Black Hill

Start at the North Quarry Car Park (P on the map) and take the trailhead at the southeastern end of the car park towards North Hill. Stick to the higher path as it heads through forest. After passing Ivy Scar rock, turn very sharply right (signed to North Hill) and complete a large zig-zag up the hill. Exiting the trees, join a wide track called the Lady Howard de Walden Drive. Follow it clockwise around North Hill for 90 degrees and then turn left and take the clear trail straight up to the top of Worcestershire Beacon
