Ulysses Advisory No. 1

PAL Advisory on Typhoon 'Ulysses'

We are closely monitoring the track of Tropical Depression ‘Ulysses’ (international codename: “Vamco”), which is expected to intensify into a typhoon as it approaches the Luzon area of the Philippines this week.

For urgent safety reasons, Philippine Airlines may have to cancel certain flights or adjust schedules, possibly for November 12 (Thursday) and the night of November 11 (Wednesday), if the storm remains on its current path.

If you are traveling on a flight to/from Manila on November 11 or 12, we recommend that you check the status of your flight before proceeding to the airport, and watch out for our flight advisories and updates on the PAL page and on the web at www.philippineairlines.com.

We will keep you informed on developments, as we carry out measures to secure our aircraft and ground equipment in Manila and in Clark.

In the meantime, Luzon residents are advised to monitor official government advisories and prepare for the potentially severe impact of Ulysses.

Thank you.

FOR ATTENTION - THIS IS A DEVELOPING SITUATION; FURTHER CHANGES EXPECTED : PAL will closely monitor the typhoon situation and will provide updates on further changes. Please continue to monitor the status of your flights by logging on to www.philippineairlines.com or checking further advisories on our Official PAL page. Even after the typhoon recedes and weather improves, it will take some time to restore normal schedules, as we would need to reposition aircraft and undertake other operational adjustments based on the revised slots and clearances at the affected airports, in coordination with the airport and air traffic control authorities. Please do not proceed to the airport if your flight is cancelled, but instead avail of the rebooking options (see below).

FYI
even FILIPINO CANADIAN
also FILIPINO AMERICANS
CANNOT TRAVEL TO THE PHILIPPINES USING U.S. PASSPORTS

👉🏻Warning to Filipino Americans: you cannot travel to the Philippines using a U.S. passport or any foreign passport. We have Filipino clients who were turned away by Philippine Airlines (PAL) because they were using U.S. passports. The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has been ordered not to allow foreign nationals to enter the Philippines, although temporarily until further notice.

👉🏻Filipino Americans with dual citizenship, must bring with them their Philippine passports to be allowed to fly. If a passenger does not have the Philippine passport, a certified copy of the Oath of Allegiance must be obtained from the Philippine Consulate where the oath was taken. There is a fee of $25 for the certified copy.

👉🏻American spouses or children travelling with a Filipino American (with dual citizenship) are allowed to travel.

This is an important announcement to avoid inconvenience among many Filipino Americans from different states around the U.S., who have travelled to Los Angeles or San Francisco, only to find out they cannot board the plane.

👉🏻Before you purchase an airline, ticket bound for the Philippines, ask the airlines first for requirements before you confirm your flights.

A friendly reminder to all our valued clients:✈🌍

✅Please be on the airport and have check in at least 3 hours before the scheduled departure para hindi maiwan sa flight.
