Crew change resumes at Port of Manila
The One Stop Shop (OSS) at the Port of Manila has advised government agencies and concerned entities that crew change operations at the port would resume anytime today following improved weather in the National Capital Region (NCR).
The OSS Secretariat has issued an advisory informing the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ), the Bureau of Immigration (BI), First Aide Diagnostics and license manning agencies (LMAs), that crew change operations will start today, November 2, 2020 after suspending it due to Typhoon Rolly.
The OSS at the Port of Manila has further advised the government agencies, First Aide Diagnostics, LMAs and other concerned entities to expedite reinstallation of their booths at the Eva Macapagal Terminal at Pier 15.
At the same time, Maritime Industry Authoroty (MARINA) Administrator VAdm. Robert Empedrad said that there is no reason not to continue with the crew change operations in three ports: Manila, Port Capinpin in Orion, Bataan and Subic Freeport because of the improved weather.
According to PAGASA, super Typhoon Rolly has lost its steam as it exited Luzon early this morning. In its latest bulletin before lunch, PAGASA reported that the typhoon was located at about 85 kilometers west of Subic, Zambales.
Typhoon Rolly now has sustained winds of only 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
Typhoon Siony, on the other hand, was last seen at about 850 km east of northern Luzon this morning. The second typhoon is not expected to impact on the operations in these three ports.
