DOJ postpones implementing new outbound travel rules for Filipinos

“We take this opportunity to remind everyone that the temporary suspension of the implementation of the revised guidelines on departure formalities does not affect existing laws and regulations governing travel and immigration procedures. All existing rules and guidelines remain in place until further notice,” the DOJ continued’’

Going abroad? More documents needed, stricter rules to follow starting Sept. 3

Basic documents to be presented:
• valid passport of at least 6months from date of departure
• valid visa (if required to destination)
• boarding pass
• roundtrip ticket (if necessary)
List of additional requirements:
𝐓𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐓 - 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝
• proof of hotel booking/accommodation
• proof of financial capacity to travel
• proof of employment and/or equivalent documents
𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐋
If the sponsor is relative within the first civil degree
• proof of relationship such as original PSA birth certificate or marriage certificate
• copies of the following documents of the sponsor such as valid passport, valid working visa/permit, residence visa/permit and/or equivalent documents
• Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC)
If sponsor is relative up to fourth civil degree
• Original affidavit of support and guarantee
~ duly notarized by Philippine Embassy
~ if notarized by local notary public the affidavit should be authenticated by Philippine Embassy
• Proof of affiliation such as original PSA birth certificate or marriage certificate
If sponsor is a non-relative or a legal/judicial entity
• Original affidavit of support and guarantee
~ duly notarized by Philippine Embassy
~ if notarized by local notary public the affidavit should be authenticated by Philippine Embassy
• Substantial proof of relationship
• If a legal/juridical entity, sponsor’s registration papers
If traveling with a local sponsor
• Duly notarized affidavit executed by local sponsor
• Substantial proof of relationship
• Copy of the sponsor’s return ticket consistent of that of the passenger

If departing for the first time
• Overseas employment certificate

• Visa usage undertaking
If Balik-Mangagawa
• Overseas employment certificate
• Valid visa or work permit
• Proof of employment
If Direct Hired
• Overseas employment certificate
• Valid visa or work permit
MINOR

~ Original PSA birth certificate
~ Original PSA marriage certificate if minor is traveling without the mother
