Watched “Legends in Concert” at Tropicana Hotel, the longest running show in Las Vegas (35 years) 😀 The performers try to look like and sound like the artist they pay tribute to. The artists featured that night we watched were Pat Benatar (“Hit me with your best shot,” “We belong”), Freddie Mercury, Lady Gaga and Elvis Presley 😆 my fave was Elvis! Gwapo ❤️

The artists are fantastic in looking like the originals but the voices not really. Elvis was the closest. But of course it’s quite a challenge sounding like Lady Gaga and Freddie Mercury. There is only one like them in the whole universe! Pat lacked stage presence.
Redeeming factors: the gay guy who portrayed Joan Rivers was entertaining and the dancers were so admirable in memorizing the steps, they were on stage almost all throughout the show 😮
If you go to Vegas, it’s fine even if you skip this show.

Nice to see you again Tita Lei, who flew from Maryland to meet us 😊 she wanted to eat at Chili’s, so here we are, having our first meal in Las Vegas. Tita Lei ordered the shrimp tacos, while hubby Joey and I shared the chicken, steak and shrimp fajitas, since servings here are so huge 😮 I also told the waitress that there are many branches of Chili’s in the Philippines. She was surprised haha 😆

Oh wow! My first time riding business class on a long haul flight. Ang saya pala! 🤩 Parang ayaw ko na bumaba sa plane coz here I’m well-rested and well-fed. After experiencing this, kung pwede lang, ayaw ko na mag-economy. I wish di ba? Haha 😆

Arrived at Ga***rd Rockies Resort in Aurora, Colorado and had a pasta dinner with the top leaders of Toastmasters in the Philippines: Ann Margaret Danga for Luzon, Richard John Cua Ho for Visayas and Marilyn Legaspi for Mindanao. My first time here in Dallas Love Field Airport and I love it! It’s nice and neat, great to fly to and out of. It’s like you’re looking forward to your plane ride because you’ll get to be in this airport.
It would be fantastic if all airports had that kind of ambiance. Philippine airports, can we strive to be this way? 😊 - Hazel Pascual Nespral

We reached JFK Airport, New York at the wee hours of the morning. Joey Nespral and I were the only people at Howard Beach train station, going to Manhattan. Creepy... I can’t help but feel emotional about this trip. It is only now, after 30 long years that Joey will get to visit his aunts in the US, his dad’s sisters. It will also be his first time to visit the East coast (New York, Washington DC, Connecticut & Boston). I feel happy for Joey. Best sushi ever... Endo sushi in Osaka central fish market that has been serving sushi since the year 1907 😮 Sushi so delicious with the freshest ingredients, that melts in your mouth. No sushi I’ve ever tasted in the Philippines comes even close 😀 I’m glad the line wasn’t that long. Open Monday to Saturday 6AM - 2PM. My faves are the fatty tuna, eel & salmon 😊

Cherry blossoms starting to bloom here in Kyoto & Nara 😊❤️ I thought we won’t be able to witness the Sakura season in Japan because we were there early March. Usually they bloom on April pa. I’m grateful that a few trees started to bloom while we were there para kahit papaano, we got to experience 😊❤️

Our first meal in Japan we bought from Horai store, Namba station... siopao and siomai (pork & shrimp) pa lang, solb na solb na! 😆 I asked for sauce... they didn’t have daw. What they gave me are gyoza sauce & mustard. So hindi pala uso ang asado sauce sa siopao and toyomansi for siomai in Japan 😅 Joey put mustard on his siopao. Masarap naman daw 😆
