DISNEY CRUISE LINE IN SOUTHEAST ASIA STARTING 2025
Starting in 2025, Disney Cruise Line will begin sailing in Southeast Asia. After signing a memorandum of understanding late last month, Disney Cruise Line and Singapore Tourism Board announced the news.
Disney Parks has published an article stating that the agreement entails a new Disney cruise ship berthing exclusively in Singapore for at least five years.
Singapore Tourism Board (STB) Chief Executive Keith Tan stated that the new Disney cruise ship would be an attraction in itself and would boost the tourism industry in Singapore for several years to come.
"This is an important milestone for STB and reflects Disney Cruise Line's strong confidence in Singapore and Southeast Asia," Tan added.
Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman Josh D'Amaro noted that the cruise line is currently undergoing "an ambitious expansion with new ships and new destinations throughout the world."
A Disney Cruise Line ship can accommodate around 6,000 passengers, while around 2,300 crew members serve on board.
The vessel is anticipated to be the first in the industry to be powered by green methanol, known to have one of the lowest emissions.
Currently, Disney Cruise Line offers cruises to the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, Alaska, Canada, the Mexican Riviera, and the Pacific coast.
