September 7 – the movie “Thelma” is released in shown in theaters nationwide. “Nowhere To Run” by Rivermaya is the movie’s main theme song. A music video for the acoustic version of the song is also released with Julianne Tarroja singing lead vocals.
Rivermaya endorses German microphone manufacturer Beyerdynamic, through JB Music Philippines.
Rivermaya releases their first self-produced music video for the single “Remenis” from the album “Closest Thing To Heaven”.
2010
Rivermaya is commissioned to write the theme song for the independent film “Thelma”. Two versions the single “Nowhere To Run” are released and available as free downloads through the web.
Rivermaya performs back-to-back with American Rock Band Lifehouse at the 2010 Guinness Arthur’s Day Celebration in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Rivermaya voluntarily supports Presiential Candidate Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro Jr., producing 2 songs for his campaign: “Lipad” and “Dapat Gibo”.
