Baba Ghundi Winter Sports Festival Season 2: A new Chapter Unfolds

We are thrilled to announce that the President of Zood Winter Sports Club, Zubair Ahmad, along with cabinet member Sohail Azhar and Mr. Eman Shah, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Information and Development in Gilgit Baltistan, met with Mr. Zameer Abbas, Secretary of the Tourism Department Gilgit Baltistan, to discuss the upcoming Baba Ghundi Winter Sports Festival Season 2.

The meeting was a resounding success, with Mr. Zameer Abbas showing keen personal interest in the event, which is scheduled to take place in Zood Khun Chipursan Gojal. The Tourism Department Gilgit has pledged its support for the event, recognizing the vast potential of the area to host national-level events.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Tourism Department and Mr. Zameer Abbas for their unwavering support. We also commend the efforts of Mr. Eman Shah, who graced us with his presence as the guest of honor at last year's Baba Ghundi Winter Sports Festival Season 1.

The Zood Khun Winter Sports Club has achieved remarkable milestones in winter sports, with athletes from Chipursan Gojal participating in events held in Naltar, Ghulkin Chitral, and Khalti. Our young boys and girls have showcased their exceptional sports skills, making us proud.

The Tourism Department Gilgit Baltistan has been instrumental in promoting tourism in the region, reaching out to untapped areas such as Chipursan, Phandar, and many more. We applaud their efforts and commitment to showcasing the beauty and potential of Gilgit Baltistan.

This upcoming event is expected to be a huge success, thanks to the personal efforts of Mr. Zameer Abbas, his team, and Mr. Eman Shah.

Baba Wali Kandhari was a Sufi pir who was born in 1476 at Kandahar. In about 1498, he moved to Hasan Abdal to the western side of mountains. He performed 'Chilla' at Taxila and Hassan Abdal. The terrain was hilly and very close to nature, giving a 360° view of the surroundings.
