"SENGE CHHUU" (Balti language word) SENGE means Lion and Chhu means waters meaning lions of the rivers. The 3rd longest river of Asia known as Indus river having the oldest histories of civilizations.. This mighty lion has its own signicance and importance in the world. While at this point it is at almost 6500ft above sea level and this point is considered to be the North most part of Indus river. This is situated almost 25kms from Juglot near Gilgit.

"MINIMERG"
A small village near Burzil Pass, Astore, Gilgit Baltistan with mesmerising natural beauty, A town of Armed Check post (pak Army) near border of AJK and IOK in P**istan.
The name Mini Merg is a derivative name, This Town was known as Nain, During British Rule in India, A postmaster appointed in this village had a beautiful and nice wife named as "MINI". She came there for her husband as he was posted by the British command, She remained in village Nain for 10 years from 1935 till 1945. She died in 1945 and had been buried in this small village, Local people around this village used to call the place as grave place or death Place of Mini in local language. This calling produced a new name derived from two word "MINI" The name of the respected lady and wife of postmaster and "MERG" A person word meaning death.. So the new name of this small village was known with years as MINIMERG... (THIS STORY HAS BEEN HEARD FROM OLD AGED LOCALS OF THIS TOWN BY THE WRITER HIMSELF)
