Keran in Neelum Valley is a breathtaking natural gem, but it's facing a dual threat. Improper waste disposal by certain establishments, often dubbed the "hotel mafia," is harming the environment. Worse, it contributes to climate change, elevating the risk of Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs).

GLOFs are a result of climate change-induced glacial melting, endangering communities downstream. As one of the most vulnerable regions, Neelum Valley demands swift action.

We implore climate activists, local authorities, responsible tourists, and civil society to unite against this waste management crisis. Let's embrace sustainable tourism to safeguard Neelum Valley's pristine beauty and protect it from GLOFs.
