🌊 Journey of the River Shyok 🌊

River Shyok begins its journey from the majestic Rimo Glacier, similar to the Siachen Glacier. Flowing north of Ladakh towards Baltistan, it merges with the waters from the Galwan and Chang Chenmo valleys. About 100 kilometers before reaching Baltistan, the Nubra River from Siachen joins Shyok, creating a wide junction with the Saltoro and Hushe rivers. From this spot, you can marvel at the stunning view of Mashrabrum (K1).

In the picture, you can see this beautiful junction. The Saltoro valley lies behind the mountain on the right, and directly ahead is the route to a valley leading to the challenging 5,585-meter high pass towards K2.
