Yet, Pakistan is much more than staggering mountain trails. The scenic Gilgit-Baltistan region – dubbed "heaven's gate" – is brimming with lush valleys, pristine lakes and glacial waterfalls. Cradled between trails are the Hunza Valley's fragrant cherry blossoms and apricot orchards, undulating Unesco-listed Deosai plains and Shangri-La-esque mirrored lakes. Gilgit-Baltistan has made it to CNN’s list of 25 places to visit in 2025.

“The Gilgit-Baltistan region in the Karokoram Mountains isn't the easiest place to get to — flight schedules can be unreliable, roads can be blocked off seasonally — but it has more tantalizing peaks than a lemon meringue pie. It's home to five of the 14 “eight-thousander” peaks recognized as the world's highest”, wrote CNN.

Rush Lake is a high-altitude lake located in Nagar Valley. At 4,694 metres, Rush Lake is one of the highest alpine lakes in the world. It is located about 15 km north of Miar Peak and Spantik in the Nagar Valley
It looks amazing , like a Dream world with all Karakuram Peaks around you. More spectacular is
Rush lake during sunset, sunrise and the golden hour.
