Pakistani Hunter Waleed hunted season’s first Blue Sheep with horns measuring 28 inches in Shimshal Community Control Hunting Area (CCHA) by paying USD 6,600 USD for locals.
Under the Trophy Hunting Program, 80% of the amount paid by hunters are given to the local community to invest on local development and the conservation of these animals.

Mr. Murtaza Baig posing with the trophy is a leading and well know tour guide who contributed his service to make this hunt possible.

Happy Birthday to Abdul Joshi !

Abdul Joshi (36) is from Shimshal. His first peak was Manglik Sar (6,050m) at the age of 18. He started his mountaineering career as a helper and progressed to become a high altitude porter on 8,000-m mountain expeditions. Joshi once went up till Camp 3 (7,400m) of K2 (8,611m) when an avalanche swept their tents away and crushed their summit dreams. He has also been on a G2 (8,034m) expedition.

Josh along with his team from Shimshal valley created history on 14 th August when they summited the unclimbed Passu Cones of the Karakoram range of mountains in Pakistan.

The group was led by mountaineer Abdul Joshi, and had two female climbers — Sultana Nasab and Shama Baqir — as well. Together, they became the first ever team to climb the main Passu Cone peak.

Pakistan Youth Outreach Foundation announce the winter mountaineering /Winter Survival Edition 11th, 2021 and 5th national ice climbing Championship in Shimshal Valley

The camp also aims to train aspiring youth both boys and girls so they can work with foreign expeditions. In the past few years, have experienced enormous change in the tourism , especially winter tourism, this also reflects in the ability of high altitude porters, which we encouraged to be high altitude guides, the quality of work, technical skills, client management and over all scope of adventure tourism.
