Darbar Mahal, Bahawalpur was built by Bahawal Khan V to hold courtly events and government offices of the former princely state of Bahawalpur.
Initially named Mubarak Mahal, it was completed in 1905. Farrukh Mahal, located in the premises of Durbar Mahal was named after a wife of Ameer Muhammad Bahawal Khan V. Its construction was initiated by the Ameer as a royal residence in 1905, and was completed in 1911. Nishat Mahal was constructed by Nawab M. Bahawal khan -V as a royal residence in 1905 and was completed in 1911. It is also located within the Darbar Mahal complex.
