Spooky season is nearly here. If you're looking for a good book to read, then this one is highly recommended.

Though a work of fiction, 'Disdain' firmly roots its narrative in reality, drawing from authentic settings. The chilling account of the horrors at Bergen-Belsen is etched into the very fabric of this tale. This novel skilfully melds elements of science fiction, horror, and historical events, crafting a narrative focused on a malevolent entity. At its heart, it explores the lives of the British Army stationed in 1980s Germany and the courageous individuals who bravely stood up to face the looming danger.

Gdansk’s little sister but still a tourist hotspot is Sopot, one of the most fashionable towns in Poland and Tri-City’s primary party destination. The town’s reputation as a spa resort began in the early 19th century, this quickly grew into a reputation as a playground for Europe’s elite, many of whom purchased summer homes there.

The city is a hip and happening place with buzzing nightlife, quality hotels and spas, sheltered beaches and plenty to do and see. Sopot has the longest wooden pier in Europe, at 515.5 metres, stretching out into the Bay of Gdańsk. For active types, Sopot provides kilometres of bike paths and forest trails to explore.

The most happening place in Sopot, Tri-City is ul. Monte Cassino, the city’s main pedestrian thoroughfare. It is lined with bars, clubs and restaurants and leads directly to the pier and beaches - https://polandtravel.agency/discover-tri-city/

In the 1980s, Gdańsk was the birthplace of the Solidarity movement, which played a major role in bringing an end to communist rule in Poland and helped precipitate the collapse of the Eastern Bloc, the fall of the Berlin Wall and the dissolution of the Warsaw Pact. Gdańsk is also famous for being the location where the first shots of World War II were fired. Not surprisingly, two of the city’s main attractions are the World War II Museum, and the European Solidarity Centre - https://polandtravel.agency/discover-tri-city/

The incredibly beautiful and photogenic Ksiaz Castle was built in the late 13th century following the destruction of an earlier stronghold. Over the years the castle has been the home to many noble families including the Silesian Duke Bolko 1 (who built it) and the mighty House of Hochberg. The castle is situated in thick woodlands adding to its majesty and is at the heart of a rumour of a lost N**i gold train believed to be buried in the vicinity of the castle.
During World War II, Ksiaz Castle was taken over by the occupying German forces and following Hitler’s direct orders, a system of tunnels was constructed underneath the castle and surrounding areas. The construction was one of seven underground structures all developed under the code name Project Riese.
The function of the tunnels underneath Ksiaz Castle remains unclear mainly due to a lack of documentation; however it is likely that they were going to be part of the Führer’s Headquarters network - https://polandtravel.agency/ksiaz-castle/

Established between the 12th and 13th centuries, the Bochnia Salt Mine, is one of the oldest salt mines in the world and the oldest commercial company in Poland. The mine stopped producing salt in 1990 at which time, it became a tourist attraction. In 2013, a multimedia aspect was added to the tourist route; which spans two kilometres in length.
The complex offers four different routes for visitors. Among the mine’s attractions, there is the underground mining train that transports tourists along the tourist route, a 140m slide connecting two levels of the mine, and an underground boat crossing.
Bochnia Salt Mine is one of Poland’s official national Historic Monuments and has also been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List as an extension of the Wieliczka Salt Mine inscription.
The history of salt extraction in the Bochnia region dates back to 3,500 years B.C. Prior to mining, salt was acquired by evaporating water from brine - Read more - https://polandtravel.agency/bochnia-salt-mine/

Bialowieza National Park is located in the north east of Poland in the Podlaskie voivodeship and covers an area of around 105 sq km. The park is part of the Białowieża Forest, which straddles the border between Belarus and Poland.
Bialowieza National Park is well-known for two reasons. Firstly, it is home to Europe’s largest land mammal, the European bison and secondly, the park shelters a sizeable chunk of original lowland primeval forest; which has remained undisturbed for hundreds of years. The forest has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a Biosphere Reserve.
The park is called the “last untouched wilderness of Europe" and has an inner zone consisting of old-growth forest which has been living without much human intervention for over 800 years.
Białowieża Forest is the last remnant of the primeval forest which once covered most of Europe and several species of fauna, which were once native in forests throughout Europe, but which have now been mostly eradicated can still be found there - Read more - https://polandtravel.agency/bialowieza-national-park/
