At Beit El Karmeh, in the heart of Kufor Aqab’s old town, we dove into the world of tahini. Our workshop began with the art of tahini creation, followed by a hands-on experience where we crafted a three-course Iftar menu, each dish a celebration of tahini’s versatility.🍽️👌🏽
Our appetizer, a hummus trio, was a testament to creativity—a classic recipe, a fresh basil-infused variant, and a striking beetroot edition, all prepared by our wonderful participants.🙌🏽🌈
The main course featured Rummaniyeh, a traditional Palestinian dish from Jaffa named for its key ingredient, pomegranate (‘Rumman’ in Arabic), with tahini as its soul.🍆🧄🌶️🧅🍅
For dessert, Basbousa, a sweet sensation originally from Egypt and beloved in Palestine, was reimagined with a lavish coat of tahini, adding a depth of flavor that transcends the ordinary.🍊
Throughout the workshop, our lovely chef Sawahreh shared not only her recipes but also personal anecdotes and cherished childhood memories, making for a truly memorable experience. The feedback from participants was heartwarming.👩🏽🍳👼🏼
Our gratitude extends to everyone who joined us to explore our cuisine and culture, and for supporting our initiative.🇵🇸💚💜🤎
