Just wrapped up an unforgettable journey through the heart of Morocco! From the vibrant energy of Marrakech to the breathtaking landscapes of the High Atlas Mountains, every moment was a dream. We crossed the stunning Tizi-N'Tichka Pass, explored the iconic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, and wandered through the picturesque Dades Valley.

The adventure continued in the Merzouga Desert, where we rode camels into the golden dunes and spent a magical night under a star-studded sky. Our journey took us through the scenic Draa Valley and back to the bustling streets of Marrakech, filled with history, culture, and endless discoveries.

Morocco's charm, from its ancient medinas to the majestic landscapes, captured our hearts. This trip was a perfect blend of adventure, beauty, and cultural immersion. Can't wait to share more memories and stories from this incredible experience! 🌍❤️

Exactly 8 years ago we had this trip with this amazing group.

We were in Ait Ben Haddou visiting the kasbah and on the way to the Sahara desert.

Was a really nice trip.

Marrakech é Conhecida como a "cidade vermelha", a "pérola do sul" ou a "porta do sul", é a capital da prefeitura homónima e da região de Marraquexe-Safim. Em 2004 tinha 801 043 habitantes[1] na zona urbana e 1 070 838 habitantes na prefeitura.

É a quarta maior cidade do país, a seguir a Casablanca, Fez e Tânger.[nt 1] Situa-se 580 km a sudoeste de Tânger, 327 km a sudoeste de Rabat, 240 km a sudoeste de Casablanca e 246 km a nordeste de Agadir. É das chamadas quatro cidades imperiais de Marrocos (as outras são Fez, Mequinez e Rabat) e a que atrai mais turistas.

A zona é habitada desde o Neolítico, quando agricultores berberes ali viviam, mas a cidade só foi fundada em 1062 por Abu Becre ibne Omar.

À semelhança de muitas cidades marroquinas, Marraquexe tem uma parte antiga (ou almedina), correspondente à cidade primitiva, cercada de muralhas, fortificada, com ruas pejadas de lojas e vendedores de rua, rodeada por bairros modernos, nomeadamente Gueliz, o mais elegante deles, situado junto ao centro. A almedina de Marraquexe está classificada como Património Mundial desde 1985. A cidade é atualmente um importante centro económico e um destino turístico de fama mundial. Marraquexe tem também o maior maior souk (suq, mercado tradicional) berbere, com os 18 souks especializados que se concentram na almedina, onde se vendem e por vezes também se fabricam os mais variados produtos, que vão desde os tapetes tradicionais berberes até à eletrónica de consumo moderna. O artesanato ocupa uma parte significativa da população, e a sua produção destina-se principalmente aos turistas.

Deserto do Sahara é conhecido por ser o maior deserto quente do mundo. Oficialmente, é o terceiro maior deserto da Terra, logo após a Antártida e o Ártico, pois estas duas também são consideradas desertos. Localizado no Norte da África, tem uma área total de 9 065 000 km², sendo sua área equiparável à da Europa (10 400 000 km²) e à área dos Estados Unidos, e maior que a área de muitos países continentais tais como Brasil, Austrália e Índia. O nome Sahara é uma transliteração da palavra árabe صحراء, que por sua vez é a tradução da palavra tuaregue "tenere" (deserto). O deserto do Sahara compreende parte dos seguintes países e territórios: Argélia, Chade, Egito, Líbia, Mali, Mauritânia, Marrocos, Níger, Saara Ocidental, Sudão e Tunísia. Atualmente vivem cerca de 2,5 milhões de pessoas na região do Sahara.

Aint Ben Haddou é uma cidade fortificada, "ksar", na região de Souss-Massa-Drâa, Marrocos, na antiga rota de caravanas entre o Sahara e Marrakech. Situa-se numa colina do Alto Atlas, à beira do rio Unila, afluente do Ouarzazate, por sua vez afluente do Drá. A cidade é constituída por um grupo de várias pequenas fortalezas, ou casbás (kasbahs), chegando a ter dez metros de altura cada uma. A maioria dos habitantes da cidade vive agora numa aldeia mais moderna, no outro lado do rio; no entanto, oito famílias ainda vivem no alcácer

Ali foram filmados vários filmes famosos, incluindo Lawrence da Arábia, A Múmia, Gladiador, Alexandre e Príncipe da Pérsia, Game of Thrones, entre muitos outros.

Foi fundado em 757, e começou como a casa de uma família apenas, no entanto a povoação cresceu até ao seu tamanho actual. O túmulo do seu fundador, ibne Hadu está na base da colina, por trás da povoação.

O local foi declarado Património Mundial da UNESCO em 1987.
