Off the beaten track, Ceira River Baracao is for nature lovers who enjoy the dew-fresh nature of early mornings and the peaceful sound of crickets at night. Nestled among mountains, trees and wildlife, tranquil and relaxing. Yet central to local villages and towns, a ten minute drive will find you all the facilities you need from Banks, Cafes, Restaurants, Pharmacies, Fuel, Shops and local traditional Markets.
For ramblers there are many dirt track walks along and through the mountains. In the summer months, when the river water is lower, it is perfect for river walking. A ten minute walk takes you along the track to river swimming at the picturesque river gorge.
You may wish to breakfast in Serpins at a traditional Portuguese Patisserie, before heading off to explore this historic region of Central Portugal; pack for a BBQ lunch at the river swimming areas of Serpins, Varzea Pequena , Casal de Ermio - or - just relax and laze by the Ceira River.
