🇵🇹 November 2023 - Our Lisboa private tour!

A fun, fun, fun day with Maria Luísa & Lina Maria from Puerto Rico! We did the morning walking tour of the city from Alfama to the hights of Graça, followed by the descent to the Sé cathedral, Baixa and Praça do Comércio. Uphill again to Rossio, Carmo, Chiado and Bairro Alto, where we recovered our energy at Tascardosos, a genuine portuguese family run restaurant!

In the afternoon we drove to Estoril and Cascais along the scenic Marginal road, and wraped up the day in Belém, where we couldn't miss the world famous tower and the monument dedicated to the portuguese golden age of discoveries!

🇵🇹 November 2023 - Hiking in Sintra

For the third time this year we had the privilege to guide our dear friends Pedro, Ricardo and Raimundo on a challenging morning hike from São Pedro de Sintra to the heights of the Moorish castle, through the scenic Villa Sassetti trail. The foggy conditions, so frequent around this area, enhanced the natural beauty of the Sintra mountains, and made the cozy meal at Sabores de Sintra even more comforting!

🇵🇹 November 2023 - The Knights Templar heritage

On this year's 7th edition of our private tour dedicated to the legacy of the portuguese Knights Templar we presented to our guests Linda & Mike the 7 main sites that ilustrate the warrior monks presence in and around the beautiful town of Tomar:

1. the Templar castle, one of the most spectacular exemples of medieval military architecture in Europe;

2. the private oratory of the Knights Templar, built inside the perimeter of the old castle walls;

3. the cloisters of the impressive Convent of Christ;

4. the church of Santa Maria do Olival, pantheon of the portuguese masters of the Order;

5. Tomar's main square, where we can find the monument dedicated to Gualdim Pais, founder of this town in the 1160's;

6. The church of the Alcobaça monastery, a tribute to the Cistercian Order offered by Afonso Henriques, the first king of Portugal;

7. The scenic Almourol castle, guardian of the passage over the Tagus river, and once a divide between the muslim Garb Al-Andalus and the christian northern Portugal.
