In 2018 my wife and I made a 9-day trip to cycle in self-support, along the 3rd longest road in the world, the EN2 (Estrada Nacional 2) in Portugal.
Route 66 in USA is classified as the longest road in the world, the 2nd is a road in Argentina and the 3rd road is in Portugal (738km). This road starts in the North of Portugal and ends in the extreme South. My brother-in-law drove us and the bike in a small 5-seat van to the start point.

PortugalBike is a Portuguese Company. We know our country and our people very well and therefore we easily understand the situation that our country is living due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Given the current situation we are suspending all our bike tours, Guided, Self-Guided or Supported, with start dates before June 30th. This complies with the decisions of Portuguese Authorities.

We can say that Portugal has been doing a good job until now. The Portuguese strategy has been to control the spread of the virus to avoid the collapse of the health care system. No country in the world was prepared for such a situation, but we all must do our best and learn with other people's experience.

We don't know when we will be able to run tours as usual, but we will continue to monitor the situation and update our measures according to the evolution of the situation.

Meanwhile, we have opened our Calendar for 2021 and for now the prices are the same as in 2020.

The Portuguese government is preparing some measures now to give people more freedom of movements, but nobody really knows how the situation will evolve. Restaurants and hotels are preparing themselves to be working during the Summer, but it is still too early to make plans.

PortugalBike has been organizing bike tours for 25 years. We know well what we must do and we are sure that we will be able to overcome this crisis. We’ll be here and ready for you, when the time is right to continue making people happy with unforgettable experiences in Portugal.

We would like to thank all the people that have written kind messages showing their concern about us during these troubled times. This is something that we cherish in our hearts and it gives us strength.

We do hope that all our friends and clients can overcome this and we look forward to better times when everybody can travel and cycle safely.

We sincerely hope to see you on the road soon. :)
