EXCELLENT NEWS: What a proud day to be a Qatar Lover. Qatar Airways has been voted the world's best airline at the annual Skytrax World Airline Awards.

The awards -- decided by 18.9 million passengers in 110 countries across the globe -- judge airlines on everything from the quality of their food and the comfort of their seats to the friendliness of their cabin crew.

Qatar has won the top prize twice before, in 2011 and 2012, and twice been voted runner-up; the airline also took home prizes for best airline in the Middle East an best business class seat.

Qatar’s 2022 World Cup organizing committee has revealed a new desert design for its fifth football stadium.

The new 40,000-seat capacity complex will be built on the site of the now-deconstructed Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan. When completed in 2019, dune-like structures meant to resemble the sand dunes that surround traditional desert tents will flank the stadium and host multi-functional hospitality and service areas.

Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani (born 3 June 1980) is the eighth and current Emir of the State of Qatar. He is the fourth son of the previous Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. He became Emir of Qatar on 25 June 2013 after his father's abdication. Sheikh Tamim has held a variety of government posts within Qatar and also worked to promote numerous sporting events within the country. As of 2013, Tamim is the world's youngest reigning monarch.
