Transylvanian WildGuide - Erdélyi Vadóc Cultural and mountain guide,
rock climber, ski instructor My native language is Hungarian and I speak English, Romanian.

My name is Andris Dénes (Andrew) and am a licensed national tourist guide (no. 7225), member of the Professional Tourist Guides Association “Pro Tourist Guides“ since 2019, which is a member of WFTGA & FEG (World and European Tourist Guides Associations). I like to think of myself as a Hungarian intellectual and mountaineer from Transylvania, who has lots of Szekler and a bit of Saxon (a German co

mmunity) blood coursing through his veins. As a resident of Cluj-Napoca/Klausenburg/Kolozsvár, I love learning, showing and teaching art history, history in general, and spend much time in the high mountains as a ski instructor, rock climber, or simply as an enthusiastic mountaineer. Also, since my motto is “Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?' (Martin Luther King), I do a lot of community work with people who have special needs and lots of superpowers, with physically, visually or mentally impaired people, as a trainer, organizer, and most importantly, as my therapy dog’s, Dr. Norka’s handler (hence the photo from a TV interview). While working as a tour guide, I aim to introduce my guests to our ancestral heritage, to the beauty of my city, to the many wonders of Transylvania, its beautiful monuments, and its breathtaking mountain landscapes. This is more than just a job for me; I find it my calling to ensure that my clients return to their homes with a lot of new, exciting knowledge, spiritually relaxed, and with their “emotional batteries” fully recharged. Taking a look at the numbers, I was 15 when I first guided tourists without assistance, got my first-degree speleology certificate in 2003, my national guide certificate in 2005, since 2013, I have been working with physically or mentally impaired people and I am a certified ski instructor since the spring of 2019. I spend most of my free time with alpinism, rock climbing, skiing, doing trail running marathons, visiting historical cities, and last but not least, making photos. I also aim, hope to one day get to be also a professional photographer. Be well and see you soon in

Andris/Andrew, the wildguide

(En/Hu) My name is Andris (Andrew in English). I like to think of myself as a Hungarian intellectual from Transylvania, who has lots of Szekler and a bit of Saxon blood coursing through his veins. As a resident of Cluj, I spend most of time in the mountains as a ski- or rock-climbing instructor, or simply as an enthusiastic mountaineer. While working as a tour guide, I aim to introduce as many people as possible to our ancestral heritage, to the beauty of my city, to the many wonders of Transylvania, its monuments, its breathtaking mountain landscapes and its cultural heritage. This is more than just a job for me; I find it my calling to ensure that my clients return to their home spiritually relaxed and with their “emotional batteries” fully recharged. Taking a look at the numbers, I was 15 when I first guided tourists without assistance, I got my first degree speleology certificate in 2003, my international guide certificate in 2005. Since 2013, together with my therapy dog (www.fb.me/drnorka/), I have been working with mentally, physically and visually impaired people in the domains of psychotherapy, kinetotherapy, skiing, rock climbing, hiking. Since 2019 I am also a certified ski instructor. I spend most of my free time rock climbing, skiing, doing trail running marathons, visiting historical cities and last but not least, with learning, enjoying the art of photography. Őseim emlékével, városom szépségével, Erdély műemlékeivel, -eszmei örökségével, -gyönyörű hegyi tájaival szeretek a vendégeink előtt büszkélkedni. Számomra ez a szakma hivatás, célom lévén, hogy a vendég lelkileg kikapcsolódjon, érzelmileg feltöltődjön és utólag frissen, üdén, “feltelt akkumulátorokkal” térjen haza. Számokban nézve, 2000-ben, 15 évesen vezettem először egyedül turista csoportot, 2003-ban végeztem az elsőfokú barlangász kötéltechnika képzésemet, 2005-től hivatalos idegenvezető vagyok, terapeuta kutyámmal együtt (www.fb.me/drnorka/) 2013-tól szellemi fogyatékosokkal, mozgássérültekkel, látássérültekkel is dolgozok pszichoterápia, kinetoterápia, sízés, sziklamászás, hegyi túrák területén. 2019 tavaszától hivatalos síoktató is vagyok. Szabadidőmet sízéssel, sziklamászással, hegyi maratonok futásával, történelmi városok látogatásával és, nem utolsó sorban, fényképezéssel töltöm.
