We ride on the old streets and the new, talking about our royal period, our communist one, as well as the present day.

Since 2013, over 2000 people have joined this unique green Bucharest bike tour covering the most important landmarks of the past 100 years.

We stop by places like the Arch of Triumph, the Athenaeum, Revolution Square, the Parliament Palace and more. There we talk about our monarchy period, our communist period and the current "original" democracy shaping Bucharest.

This tour covers more of our >200 sqkm city than most other tours on 2 wheels, includes over 10 stops, 3 parks, 2 historical squares and 1 snack break.

In a city filled with historic monuments and landmarks, it's hard to imagine that Bucharest, Romania is the location of the world's newest old town.

Romanian villages are probably the most authentic and most beautiful things that’s left in this country. So many people who have moved through Romanian cities, and many others who have moved in foreign countries, began to gradually forget how good things were at home, there in the countryside...

Travel like a local

Founded by Mihai Munteanu in 2013, Slow Tours Romania is a family business aiming to offer people an in-depth, customized, friendly experience of Bucharest.

Slow Tourism promotes physical and/or mental involvement of the traveler (alternative to passive tourism), based on sustainability, protection of biodiversity and cultural conservation.

Our tours are guided by locals, who have their own stories to tell on top of the historical stories spanning three societal forms over the past 100 years: monarchy, communism, democracy.
