On November 12, 1884, 731 electric lighting lamps were put into operation on the streets of Timișoara, over a length of 59 kilometers. Incandescent lamps were with the coal filament.

On that day, Timisoara became the first city in Europe with electrically lit streets.

🐻 How do we proceed in the event of meeting the bear on the mountain trails?

👉 don't set off alone, make sure you have at least one hiking partner;

👉 talk, make noise, sing so that wild animals can hear you and avoid you;

👉 wear a so-called Bear Bell hanging from your backpack;

👉 fog and rain increase the risk of a meeting with the bear, avoid traveling on the mountain in such conditions;

👉 pack the food as best as possible in the backpack so that it does not smell too strong;

👉 don't eat in wooded places or in those you know are frequented by bears;

👉 when camping, don't keep food in the tent. Hang the food container in a tree at least 50-100 m from where you set up your tent;

👉 have a pepper spray against bears;

👉 the bear with cubs is a real danger, if you have been alerted to its existence on your route, avoid that route;

👉 if you notice the presence of a bear far away, it's good to make noise and, if you have firecrackers, they will be very useful;

👉 if you wake up face to face with the bear, don't panic. Wear a whistle around your neck, the bear is very sensitive to noise. If you don't have a whistle, make noise, shout, clap your hands. Back away slowly, with your eyes on him;

👉 if it comes towards you, throw the backpack in the opposite direction to the one in which you will take it.

❗ Do not forget that the forests and mountains are the home of wild animals, we are the guests. Try to avoid animals as much as possible and avoid any form of aggression towards them.
