Bucharest Guide Come to See, Enjoy & Understand Bucharest. Started by Vlad the Impaler (Dracula), transformed by Carol&co. and Ceausescu, now it blossoms. Be our guest! Any kind.

You are our guest in Bucharest. Come join us and you will have a great experience, you will discovery a town that in his 556 years of existence has evolved into a mixture of cultures and of architectural styles, one that knows to be both interesting and mysterious. The youngest capital of Romania (South East Europe) is Bucharest. In a relatively short time it has become a place that creates regre

ts in the hearts of those tourist going home. Some of the people that changed the town are (or should be) well known: Vlad the Impaler (remember Dracula?), Brâncoveanu, Ceaușescu. Some of Bucharest’s points of interest even got into the attention of Guinness World Records. One of them is The Palace of the Parliament (House of the People). It is the second largest administrative building in the world. We have them all: beautiful, ugly, majestic, huge, impressive buildings. We also have an incredible Jewish heritage. Old synagogues and cemeteries, one museum and a very interesting Memorial of Holocaust. Did you know that in Romania lived a Jewish population of almost one million? We offer tour by day, by night, short, longer, long. Come to discover Bucharest! Come to UNDERSTAND this great city!

5 expats talking about Bucharest and why they like it. Have a look.

Remember London Eye? This is Bucharest Eye, the big wheel in one of the parks this lovely town has to offer. A ride is perfect to have a look around, even during snowy winter time. You can see Ghica (Ghika) Palace, one built in 1822 for the king at that moment; there is also the princely church, the only church in Bucharest built in Italian neo-classical style. Did I tell you there are a lot of lakes in the North-East part of Bucharest? There is one next to this park, too.

There is a special clock in Bucharest. Might seem strange, but you can only read the time by looking to the clock... in a mirror. As you'd go up the round stairs, there is a huge Murano glass mirror helping us to see it properly. It is inside the History Museum of Bucharest, a beautiful neo-Gothic palace built in 1835.

This is a special Metro (Subway) station in Bucharest called Politehnica. The special limestone on the floor incorporates Jurassic fossils called "rudists". They were extracted from an old sea floor in Jurassic times which nowadays forms the Apuseni Mountains.

This is one of the landmarks of Bucharest: the Patriarchy Palace and main worship place of the Romanian Orthodox Church. The palace is quite new, about 100 years old; the previous palace hosted, let's say, the old "parliament" of the principality; later on, it was the place where the 1859 unification of Romania took place. Hope you like them, it was freezing cold when I took them. :))

Old time butchers would kill for this! A very scarce kind of food is to be found in Bucharest. It is called "pizdulice": special untrained pork muscle. This makes it soft and juice. Blue cheesed potatoes are next to pizdulice. I wish you "Poftă bună"! (Enjoy your meal!)
