Winter is the perfect time to cozy up under a warm blanket with a cup of tea.
But that also means missing out on the wintering swans, the northern lights, and the unique patterns on the frozen surface of Lake Baikal. Some experiences are only available to travelers during this magical season.
Discover them in the carousel 👉
HUNT FOR MEMORABLE MOMENTS
5 Ideas for the Winter Holidays
Walk on the Ice of Baikal
Baikal is stunning year-round, but in winter, its surface transforms into a work of art. The lake’s color shifts from light blue to deep blue, almost black, while the ice becomes decorated with incredible patterns, cracks, and bubbles.
If walking isn’t enough, lace up some skates or hop on a snowmobile to capture Baikal’s beauty from every angle.
Go Whale Watching
One of the most extraordinary winter activities is a whale safari. Travelers venture to spots where these magnificent marine mammals can be seen.
The best location for whale watching is Teriberka in the Murmansk region. Here, you can also spot white-beaked dolphins, orcas, and belugas. And if you’re truly lucky, you might catch a glimpse of a humpback whale.
Visit the Huskies
Want to meet Siberian and Alaskan huskies, malamutes, and laikas up close? Head to Karelia, where several dog kennels offer such opportunities, including the largest sled dog village in Russia.
Over 100 dogs of all ages live there, ready for cuddles, playtime, and the perfect selfie.
Snowshoe Adventure
If skiing and snowboarding are old news, try something new this winter — snowshoeing!
Snowshoes are specially designed for walking through deep snow, letting you explore winter landscapes on foot.
Take a short or long tour, like trekking to the Khibiny Mountains in the Murmansk region, and discover the beauty of untouched snowy wilderness.
Which winter adventure will you choose?

How We Almost Sold a Tour for $1.5 Million

How We Accidentally Priced a Tour at Half a Million Dollars — and What Happened Next

Recently, we launched a new tour program to the Kola Peninsula on our website. Everything was going smoothly—until one unfortunate mistake: the tour price was accidentally listed in dollars instead of rubles—$480,000 instead of ₽480,000.

We didn’t notice the error, published the program, and even sent out a newsletter.

Here’s where it gets interesting. At an exhibition, people who had seen the program approached us with serious inquiries: “Half a million dollars? What’s included?” Oblivious to the mistake, we passionately described the program: premium glamping on the shores of the Barents Sea, winter fishing, ice diving, a tour of the Lenin icebreaker, snowmobile rides, and the chance to see the Northern Lights.

To our surprise, people agreed: “Yes, it’s definitely worth it. We’d love to go, but we’ll need to save up a bit.”

We were stunned when a team member casually mentioned that the price on the site was in dollars. The reaction? Mild disappointment, a few laughs, and then the question: “Why so cheap?”

This story taught us that even the priciest tours can find their audience. But thankfully, the actual cost of this incredible journey is just ₽480,000.

📍 Kola Peninsula: glamping, the Northern Lights, an icebreaker, fishing, and ultimate comfort—all waiting for you.

We’ve put together a list of manors, each with its own special charm, and they’re definitely worth a visit.

These manors have seen their ups and downs, risen like a mythical phoenix from the ashes of oblivion, and are ready to share a piece of history with you. Swipe through the carousel to read more.

In Russia, as in many European countries, countryside manors of noble families are a significant part of the nation’s historical and cultural heritage. Often dating back to the 1700s and 1800s, these estates were designed by leading architects and engineers of their time and became important local landmarks.

Which manor do you like best?

The Kola Peninsula: A Place Where Nature Gives You Chills ❄️✨

Imagine this: you’re in a cozy glamping site on the shores of the Barents Sea. The wind howls outside, but you’re warm and snug — a cup of hot tea in hand, wrapped in a soft blanket, gazing out at the endless, snow-covered expanse. This isn’t just a trip; it’s a chance to feel the grandeur of the Russian North.

What’s in store?
• Teriberka. A rugged land where the sea meets rocky shores. Walking through this place feels like stepping into a scene from a movie you’ll want to rewatch again and again.
• Snowmobiles. Not just a ride — but a thrilling adventure across the northern landscapes. Complete silence surrounds you, broken only by the engine’s hum and the crunch of sparkling snow underfoot.
• The Icebreaker Lenin. Step into history as you explore this legendary nuclear-powered ship.
• Sea Fishing. Catch your own crabs and scallops straight from the water, and savor the taste of freshness like never before.

And, of course, the Northern Lights. Unpredictable and elusive, but if you’re lucky, the colors will leave a lasting impression for a lifetime.

We’ll stay at the Kitovy Bereg glamping site — a cozy haven on the Barents Sea designed to offer warmth and comfort even in the heart of the northern winter. Additionally, other atmospheric hotels will immerse you in the spirit of this adventure.

This tour isn’t about ticking off boxes on a travel checklist. It’s about emotions that take your breath away. Harsh nature, luxurious comfort, and unforgettable moments.

50 Shades of the North ❤️

For a true northern adventure, head to Teriberka. Here, it feels like you’re at the edge of the world: rocky shores, endless tundra, and wild wildlife. Some locals — furry, whiskered, or even antlered — are happy to pose for travelers 😉

They say autumn is the best time to visit this rugged land. The wind isn’t yet bone-chilling, and the sparse vegetation is starting to glow with autumn colors. Sunrises and sunsets blaze across the horizon, and the northern lights, a magnet for many travelers, can already be captured on camera. The North seems to be showing off all its shades — breathtakingly beautiful!
