Amazing visit to Manning Clark House with atmosphere, vibes, belongings, books and bright, smart and beautiful women working there! Manning Clark was considered the most famous Australian historian who wrote six-volume History of Australia giving expression to his own ideas about the meaning of the country’s history. In the House he is presented at its best as a man of multi-faceted talents and interests from history to psychology, from languages to music, from literature to documents. He was utterly prolific reader and it was wonderful to observe the library. Among the books there were Freud, Jung, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Chekhov and more and more.. it seems all this “falls on fertile ground” as Dymphna Clarks used to like. She was Mannjngs’ wife and his greatest source of inspiration and support.
Luckily the House and the enthusiasts working there have found each other!

National Gallery of Victoria. Part I. There might be Part I to Part X as there are so many angels of views and a bunch of paintings, pieces of arts, porcelain, contemporary includings, installations, movies etc.. The first is about talented women. Dora Maar lived a long life of 90 but mostly was associated with her romantic link with Pablo Picasso. Following her breakup with him Maar worked mostly as a painter and remained unknown till her death in 1997. Only after the exhibition in Centre Pompidou in 2019 her name became widely recognized for her contributions to the twentieth century art. Almost a century after she met Picasso Dora Maar’s name stood alone.
Suzanne Valadon was more lucky. She was self-trained and having had talent and keen eye Suzanne learnt a lot from the artists she had worked with as a model since the age of 15, mostly from Edgar Degas.

I’ve been to Moscow last April… after having had an early arrival and excellent breakfast with amazing Prosecco I decided to visit Tretyakov Gallery. I enjoyed my beloved Vrubel and Nesterov then proceeded to Surikov.. looking at one of the draft to “Boyarynya Morozova” canvas I came to the conclusion that sleepless night and some alcohol made me a little bit crazy… but today I saw the same draft again and realized that it’s really funny drawing in the left low corner) As a bonus there is a picture of Anna Ioannovna hunting in Peterhoff Lower Park which is the best illustration how the Royalties spent their time there (one of the fun)
