Chekist town

This is the most mysterious place in Yekaterinburg.
On the first sight it’s a pretty usual district of a city, but in 20th century it was inhabited by the NKVD members, which means that there were lots of tortures, snitching and interrogations in Chekist town buildings.

Useful tips for traveling to Russia:
1. Learn a few Russian words
2. Always carry your passport with you. Or copies. It is required by law to carry your
ID with you so have it all the time just in case.
3. Research and check opening days and times for museums and other attractions. Unfortunately, there are no standardized opening and closing times for every sight-seeing in Russia. So it would be smarter to check (and sometimes even double check!) this information.
4. Arrive with an open mind and be prepared to be pleasantly surprised!
