Akagera National Park is Central Africa’s largest protected wetland and the last remaining refuge for savannah-adapted species in Rwanda.

Akagera National Park is a protected area in eastern Rwanda covering 1,122 km2 (433 sq mi) along the international border with Tanzania. It was founded in 1934 and includes savannah, montane and swamp habitats.

This park , located at 98.1 kilometers away. Because of the country’s speed regulations, the travel from Kigali to Akagera National Park takes roughly 1 hour and 30 minutes or 2 hours.

Akagera National Park is blessed with a number of small lakes including Lake Birengero, Lake Murambya, Lake Murambi, Lake Shakani, these are pearched south of the park and support a bigh number of Wildlife in Akagera. Lake Ihema is the biggest lake in Akagera.
