“Tugarure umuco” simply means “let us bring back latent culture.” The association initiated the preservation
of the culture around Ibigabiro bya Rwabugiri, one of the many residences of King Kigeri IV Rwabugiri (1853-1895), in order to offer some cultural experiences related to the life of the ancient Rwandan kingdom.
Visitors receive experiential insights on the traditional war scenery during the ancient Rwandan kingdom, and the ‘Umuganura’ experience - an annual event and the first national rite in order of importance which can be assimilated to the concept of thanksgiving celebrations.
