“The first time seeing Al Kaba'a I was surrounded by hundreds of thousands of people who were calling on Allah. You feel so little yet so important and close to Allah as if no one else around. It is the moment of mixed feelings which fall just in the right place, giving you peace, serenity, happiness and flying thoughts of all the prayers you want to say at this moment but can't put into words so you end up saying Ya Rab ( O'Allah) knowing that He hears you and knows what's in your heart.” (First time Pilgrim)

The Kiswa is a magnificent piece of art that covers the Kaaba and gives its unique, majestic look and holds a special place in the hearts of all Muslims.
Here are 3 facts maybe you didn't know about the Kiswa
1) Although the known color of kiswa is black, the colors of the kiswa would change during the reigns of various rulers and caliphs. The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, used a white color for the kiswa. Red, green and black have all been used, until King Al-Nasir and King Al-Ma’mun agreed that black should be the color of the kiswa.
2) In early days, Kiswa used to be changed on 10th Dhul Hijjah but it was changed it 9th Dhul Hijjah.
3) The kiswa consists of 47 pieces of cloth. Each piece is 14 meters long and 101 centimeters in breadth. The kiswa is wrapped around the Kaaba and fixed to its base with copper rings.

When you enter the Haram, recite the dua for entering a masjid:
اللهم افتح لى ابواب رحمتك
(Allaahum-maf-Tahlee Abwaaba Rahmatika)
O Allah, open the door of your Mercy for me.

It is a Sunnah of our Prophet (PBUH) to recite the Tahleel, Takbeer, and Tahmeed as many times as possible on the day of Arafah.
Tahleel is to say "Laa ilaaha il-lal-laah"
Takbeer is to say "Allahu Akbar"
Tahmeed is to say "Alhamdulillaah"

Prophet Mohammed, Peace be upon him, said: “The best of supplication is the supplication of the Day of `Arafah. And the best of what I and the Prophets before me have said is:
None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, Alone, without partner, to Him belongs all that exists, and to Him belongs the Praise, and He is powerful over all things.
(Lā ilāha illallāh, waḥdahu lā sharīka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu, wa huwa `alā kulli shai’in qadīr).’”

Labaik Allahom Labaik. The first day of Hajj, also known as Yawm Al Tarwiyah, which falls on the 8th day of Dhull Hijjah, was given this name because the early pilgrims were instructed to drink lots of water, and fill their containers and feed their animals in preparation for the long journey ahead. May Allah accept your Hajj and grant the chance next year to those who wish to perform it.

After entering the state of Ihram, one should recite the Talbiyah. It is a devotional prayer recited by pilgrims with the belief that they intend to perform Hajj for the glory of Allah. It confirms your love of Allah and implies sincerity as the pilgrim recites their talbiyah.
Labbaik Allahumma labbaik. Labbaik la sharika laka labbaik. Innal-hamda wa-nimata laka wal-mulk, la sharika laka.
“Here I am [at your service] O Allah, here I am. Here I am [at your service]. You have no partners, here I am. To You alone is all praise and all excellence, and to You is all sovereignty. There is no partner to You.”

One of the most important aspects of the Hajj is sacrifice or Udhiyah. This year, due to COVID restrictions, pilgrims will not be able to attend the slaughterhouse in person. However, the sacrifice will still be included in their Hajj package.
The sacrifice is a reminder of our responsibility to help those in need and to show kindness to those around us.
